It may not be optimal damage, but it is still additional damage that your doing despite being at 50% effeciency during that 30 sec of entangle. Extra damage is extra damage and every little bit helps.

just "thinking out loud" about our various skills and how well they work, or don't work. Def Spike is something I'm looking into for my ranger, but it doesn't sound like it really work that well with Bolas either, for me at least, since bolas = nothing hitting me, nothing getting hit by spikes. I can see benefits of it, say on the tank. Entangle would help too, but like the question asked, it "hurts" Def spikes as well.

The next time your in the grove ( or anywhere really) fight some casters with bolas and then entangle, use a stop watch and count many times you get attacked with each, and find out for yourselves. I guess you will always have forum trolls no matter which game your playing.

More than half of the posts you add to you provide the ranger community with false information , I feel it's necessery to make sure the community as a whole understands the bad ranger information you are giving is exactly that.

If you use bolas you can stay "out of range" of the enemies casting skills.

It sure feels like it sometimes. Everytime I post something spear related your posting right after me saying how much you dislike spears, and everyone should try knucks instead. I do enjoy your posts though, I have no doubt that you are a knowlegable bow ranger and I actually enjoy your feedback. You cause me to second guess myself sometimes and go back and retest what Ive posted just to make sure I'm telling the truth. I guess you keep me honest. lol
In the grove, when using bolas I find it difficult sometimes to have the running room to really utilize them, which is also why I prefer entangle. For me using a spear instead of a bow, entangle is preferable. If your using a bow I have no doubt that bolas are the way to go as long as you can keep the distance and not run into additional mobs.

No , you got it wrong. I am knowledgeable about all aspects of ranger not just bow lol.

entglee looks good but i dont like it i prefer to use sharp shoot conceal light heal rapid shoot(my lvl100)

It sucks. Not for the skill effect so much as it if does stick , the cooldown is 2x as long as the duration (and thats if it sticks).

Lol that's mean . It's funny but it's mean . Stinky wants to play outside the box and more power to him but he has yet to learn that he will never compete with proper rangers, eventually he will be high level enough and come to terms with spear ranger being crap, hopefully he enjoys getting to that point.

And yea that's exactly why tangle sucks , compound that with how often that spell is shrugged off or resisted and it is seriously a waste of skill points. If it were like bolas , and recast was half of the spell duration it would be useful.

Im not saying you cant use a spear and do something, but i just fear any comments you may provide to make admin think this plus 250 ranger spear brace is any good to have on it!

No worries. Hopefully one day OTM will allow all of our ranger skills to work with spears and perhaps then more people will see this a viable build.
