i think our heals should be more effective, and give us armour boost
our heals ARE more effective but its more inturreptable now. It was perfect in v3. i dont know about armor. if all other things fixed i dont think armor will matter and armor is pretty good now

Lol mate, don’t worry about my class as I am sure I am providing relevant feedback. Now on to your question:

My statement is exactly saying rangers are getting their butts wooped because of DPS. Simply put, rangers and rogues past update have been dominating boss kills simple because of auto attacks. Now fair enough, their auto attacks are dependent on skill attacks which enhance their auto attack damage potential. To name a few: Rangers – Steady Aim + Rapid shot, Rogues – Poison Weapon + Smoke bomb. However, this update has strangely enough caused mobs defence to be insanely high. Which results in auto attacks to have a huge potential to be miss most of time. This has been demonstrated by Pigman who has 500 dex+ Full skill smoke bomb and Eli who has 4k attack. It’s because of this main reason I feel is causing rangers and rogues losing their boss kills. This is what I meant by even if Rapid shot is fixed, the core problem being high defence would still not help rangers in getting better dps as you are missing heaps with auto attack.

Now, you said the defence rating on bosses help (A.L.L) classes and my argument supports my problem more than yours. I am obviously a caster where a good majority of my damage is via skills. Whether or not the mobs have high defence or low defence will not impact me casters at all. Evasion yes but not Defence. So please explain to me how exactly did my statement of high defence will benefit the casters, supporting us more than the melee classes? I mentioned the high defence and nothing about attacks specifically as I was highlighting the auto damage problem experienced in great grief by rangers and rogues atm.

I also agree with ranger skills being broken. But however, it brings us to a deeper (tho common knowledge) problem. If ranger dps skills are fixed and have great potential in being a power house (Long shot, Barb shot, Sharp shot for example), I am sure the relative energy cost will go up exponentially too. What then from now? Will rangers be required to invest in focus as well? Being *forced* to invest in all 4 stats while casters can survive on 2 stats? Simply put, Rangers need high str for auto dmg, high dex for skills and some vit for survival. Surely rangers are not required to invest in focus as well once skills are fixed?

This is not right obviously and it provides a potential opportunity for OTM to look deeper into class rebalance.

Lastly, I don’t think I was wrong about asking you to be more specific about which skills you were referring to as nerfed. While the nerfed skills you have mentioned may or may not have already been mentioned on other posts, there could always be new readers who may have missed the other posts on the nerfed skills. Hence it is important to be specific about what skills you are referring to as being nerfed. I fully support rangers getting a boost but it is always better to be specific as it reinforces what areas / skills that are broken, rather than just saying a general statement of ranger skills being broken.
Well that was a specific post. : P I get what your saying now, sorry for my rudeness earlier, I confuse evasion with defence at times. auto-attack is a big problem I guess, just as important as skills.
No use in playing this game anymore, but will stay on forums.

I have been testing same mobs on all of my alts. A druid, warrior, and a mage. My ranger is level 171, the druid and warrior are in the low 100s, 113 druid and 106 warrior i think, mage 80 something, 84 i think ...

Point being, every one has the best gear i can buy, and those on Crom who know me, know i buy the best i can find.
(Druid and mage both have shield of mountain, and warrior has best radiant and ES i can afford)

All that added, i tested each on the same set of 125s, used heat and cold weapons as well ...

The ranger faired the worst DPS. Even the druid could outperform the 171 ranger. The mage kicked ass with ice strikes far exceeding ANYTHING the ranger could deal. (I added levels 71-84 in a few hours) ...

And i have some serious ranger gear and skills attached. (Spikes can be 50/35, many others can be 40/35 or 43/35 ... Still the ranger DPS was far worse. I even tried long shot, double shot, and more. I reset several times on all characters. Trying to max DPS kill and speed. (Druid can tank, dude!) ...

Check the online stats for max skill hit. Mine is there. (Dex over 700 with gear pumps) ... What 1500 or so ...

And dont even get me started on light heal. Total BS, i can have a warrior double teamed and cast bandage !!! Not interrupted !!! Try same with ranger ... Misfire misfire misfire on heal, many times. But the freaking warrior can cast bandage wounds and still fight melee. BS ... Totally ...

Anyway ... All i ask is ...

Just set things back to the way they were in v3 ... Before this update.

We were not OP, we were good if we invested in good gear.
But levels points are level points.
Use them as you wish.

I only ask ...

Reset ranger performance to what it was. ( You can always change it back again, right?)

Let us show you the diff.

Yea, I can't even kill a kelpie deep caller now, its literally a joke. Put back rangers to how they were in V3. They weren't OP, at all. OP rangers would be huge amounts of DPS, but now we do very little..... I want to play my ranger again :(
