I was experiencing the same problem since I just got meteoric dagger. Like Napol said, Dmg gap, yes. Dps gap, not really. Haste lix will help just as much with a fast and weaker weapon as it would a slow and stronger one. Don't forget with a haste lix your meteoric bow will be doing close to 1 hit per second. Even with my meteoric dagger and haste ring it keeps a constant smooth hit animation, with a haste lix, I am pretty sure the met bow would do the same or faster. Haste lix works for both bows, and each have their pros and cons, but overall I say meteoric dagger because it has a pro that the adamant does not, its free.

Rangers can have some pretty amazing dps. 60% of dps is speed, 40% is damage. Just look at the cruel knife with 1400 speed. It does almost as much dps with an elemental offhand, if not more, than a meteoric dagger with the same gear.

On the other hand, the adamant bow uses the best factor that bows offer, big melee hits. The adamant bow takes advantage of this, but it works better than a meteoric bow only if you are a str build, and lets face it, no high-lvl ranger is a str build unless you are endgame.

Honestly, I can't decide, but this isn't a world where there is infinite gold in your bag, so go meteoric.

Use meteoric then frozen up to 160 then ancient wyrmbone bow and at last dl bow...meteoric because its much faster than adamant and speed helps a LOT...just trust me adamant isn't worth it

Yeah. i got the mete bow instead. With haste ring, I got more dps.

In my opinion, adamant and mete are good for different purposes. I use froz mete and with haste ring, i cn take down mobs before they get my health to half or quarter. If i use adamant( borrowed) then my dmg is a little higher but speed is a little slower. With bolas, adamant is good( tried, and hey, i killed a lvl 131** at lvl 127). So for the guy who likes nuking the mob, try adamant. And for the guy who is all speed and less dmg, try mete/ froz mete.

The above info was collected when the player had lvl 100 req quiver, frozen and adamant bow, haste ring and full frozen.

On my ranger, I used meteor bow up until level 140 where I bought the bone bow. There are a few differences for the meteor bow and the adamant bow.

I'll list some pros and cons of both

Meteor Bow:
Pros
Fast autos
Added boost to attack and energy
less likely to cause lag
Free

Cons
Only really shines if you have decent damage gear for your level
Can sometimes be time consuming to acquire

Adamant Bow:
Pros
High Damage Autos
Added stats to Bow Ability which raises damage more
Easier to obtain vs Meteor Bow
Able to be resold

Cons
Slower than other bows for it's level range
Glow effect can cause lag in certain areas, depending on connection
Almost always need to use a haste lix to level effectively

As you can see, both bows are good in their own right. It all comes down to personal preference, as I chose the Meteor Bow up until 140. The reason being I had Earthstone Armor which gave me a nice boost to damage and the fast autos allowed me not to have to spend 90k. The adamant bow is a good bow as well. It allows for a lvl 120 ranger to have some decent autos due to its higher pierce damage and added boost to bow ability.

I would recommend meteor bow for those that have the gear to go strength build at a low level, as sharpen and steady aim makes up for the lack of damage lost from adamant and weapon speed matters more to a str build than a dex build. Even if you don't have the gear to pull this off and don't have the gold to afford the adamant bow, you can easily still run this with steady and sharpen and be just as effective. As for the adamant bow, I would recommend it to more a player who doesn't have damage gear such as agg gear, earthstone, etc. With a decent stat spread and a good skill setup, this bow can give your ranger a more well rounded feel and balance between auto attacks and skills.

Or u can get some friends or a clan and camp the bosses and get the drops for free. The amount of n00bs who think they have to buy upgrade items is to high these days.

Lol. Agreed.. I'm in a clan that gears me up for every warden, so it's technically free.
