Re: Couple Questions

Olex, even though im only a lvl 102 ranger, i still know alot about rangers cuz i have really high lvl ranger friends (squirl, etc.) but i am also on world epona so it might change for your world high ranger friends:) Lol................. Anyways, as i said before, u should always have yur vit at least twice yur lvl so when u hit 200, your vit should be atleast 400:) So since u r lvl 106, yur vit should be....212:) if yur lvl 150, it should be 300:) So always put at least 2 stat points in vit when u lvl:) And the other 3 points u have left over, I'd say put in dex, or str:)
:0 i dont follow dbl vit rule at all have 10 vit :)

I am lvl 109 ranger at the moment with the following stats (approx):

110 str (for double shot)
300 dex
10 foc
250 vit
damage: 560?

longshot 25/25 (w/ rings)
sharpshot 25/25
double shot 23/25 (w/ ring)
barbed shot 25/25
light heal 25/25
rapid 1/25

I messed around with steady/sharpen/entangle/explosive/spikes for a while but found that with a heroic ammy and a golden quiver and haste ring, the above build was fine on energy regen with autos averaging 250 damage. I have re-alt/rebirthed quite a few times over the past 20 levels and have found that we have a lot of great utility skills. I think that many of these skills will be a lot more fun at later levels. However, I find that when leveling, I am almost always solo and fights on 3/4* always take 2 mins or around there with 2 damage skills + lheal + utilitiy skills.

So, I switched gears. I find that leveling is REMARKABLY quicker with the highest damage possible over the shortest period of time. With this build, the mob is often at 50% health (1 or 2 stars) before it arrives and with sharp shot/double shot/barbed, I rarely heal more than once on a 3 or 4 * mob +-6 levels.

I lead with Longshot, Barbed, Sharp, Double, Sharp, Double/Barbed, ect. On kelpies and green trees fights usually take aobut 30 seconds or less, on 4* it might take 2 mins.

This build is incredibly high aggro, so you need to be careful when you boss with a group. However, I have found nothing more equitable for our class than a build that allows for the CONTINUOUS and SPEEDY leveling on mobs +-6 levels. For the time being, this will be my build of choice!

Land, your first mistake is barbed shot. Not many rangers that r lvl 100+ use barbed shot. Energy cost and dmg. Even though its a good DoT skill, its not that good when lvling bc of the energy cost and low dmg:) Id say re-alt and put the barbed shot pts into steady aim:) or the skills u have rings for:)

War,

I agree, the consistency was great, and the energy regen was not too bad, but if I am leveling for an hour or so strait it seems like that auto damage was going to be more reliable. I have royal and greater sharpen weapons rings so I went with that instead. Current build:

SharpShot 25/25
Double Shot 25/25
Light Heal 25/25
Entangle 25/25 ( I don't lix much, this is a high survivability skill, not so much for quick kills but great for long stretches of soloing)
Sharpen Weapons 25+/25

I would love to swap entangle for more damage like rapid or steady, but my healing goes way up without it. Until I am able to get frozen and maybe a ring of battle or the lvl 100 evasion bracelet, I think I will stick with entangle for now. I don't need more than the occasional resto when leveling on this build.

Thoughts?

Amazing you use the same skills as me, but one thing. I use steady instead of entangle. A waste of a skill. When it comes to leveling, steady is so much better. I use both steady aim and sharpen so my damage stacks. Plus steady aim adds attack which adds to dps because you do't miss often. I don't like auto much and I rely heavily on skills because I have the regen to do so and a fair amount of lux.

@op Saxo is one of the best dex rangers I know. His advice is probably the best on this topic. Once you acquire dragonlord, str becomes so much better. Our set increases steady aim and sharpen weapons and gives a ton of extra heat dmg. This allows for us to easily hit 800-1000 on mobs. If you arent in an endgame clan where dl is available, dex ranger will still be your best bet.

@candies youre a level 106 ranger. You don't really have any experience in dealing with builds yet until about 150 when you actually have to put different builds to use for bosses. I've read a few of your posts and its completely and utterly useless to any topic you post on. Even if a high level ranger explained certain builds or strategies to you, you still don't have the experience to teach someone else. A ranger in your position should be asking questions and trying to learn so when you get to the endgame, you have a idea of what you do. Instead you spit nonsense and make yourself look like a fool in the process.

@war youre advice isnt any better and on top of that, your agreeing with candies which makes your points even more invalid. If you don't mind me asking, what level is your ranger and what clan and server are you from? Also, any good ranger will use bolas. Entangle cooldown makes the move useless. At least with bolas, you can recast it before its time is up.
