If this is true i retract my statement of knuckles being better bcuz that is the heart of the dps for a knuckle build. Aswell as the concept of skills interrupting autos for a skill ranger build that I've yet to be able to prove or disapprove.Steady Aim doesnt work with knuckles. If you cast with bow then switch to knuckles there is no increase of atk or dmg on your original knuckle stats. The icon will still be there but the buff doesnt actually transfer.
Re: Is it true about knuckle blade build?
#42Unfortunately it is mostly true. I understand where your coming from, as your point is that high levels can still find knucks great dps, even better than bow. Most rangers still aren't convinced, though im thinking about trying your theory (even though im not high yet).as I already said in my post...and all I will say because soulranger has done a great job proving the point already...why the hell would an end game boss (mordris) drop a weapon that APPARENTLY SUCKS AND NOBODY SHOULD EVER USE (knuckles). The answer is simple...because knuckles are good. Go yourself and buy a knuckle and axe. Even better borrow them from somebody. Do not reply to this topic until you have taken the stat and dmg advice I said in my first post, and used the knuckle and axe. You honestly cannot argue that a bow is better unless and until you have used knuckles. In my opinion, the ONLY area that a bow is better than knuckles is when you dont get hit by aoe. But then again, if you have the proper stat setup, that doesnt even matter.
Also,.... that is one of the most idiotic things I've read on forums. Most of those people asking about knuckle builds for ranger are not anywhere near level 180- aka no full dl. And to be honest even with a full dex build skill dmg isn't that great from lvl 100-150-160ish, which coincidentally, is where the large majority of the questions of knuck builds come from.

Re: Is it true about knuckle blade build?
#43Knuckleblades are not much useful to rangers. They are more fit to rogues since they can use skills like: shadowstrike, quick strike, life steal. Which requires no weapon.
As for rangers they cant use any skills but sharpen and entangle here, No special attacking skill.

Re: Is it true about knuckle blade build?
#44Dont forget that bow dmg is inherently better because its all range.
Especially when soloing with bola, there is no contest to even doing equal dmg and not getting hit once while knuckle ranger would be dead.
I dont contest that if you max your auto dmg that knucks can do legitimate damage , but comparing to bow dmg, along with benefits of ranged atk , in no way is it superior.
If you want to be an auo atk bot, be my guest and go along with your delusions of grandeur involving knuckles. Not to mention all of the aoe hits ull be taking from other melee around you........
I much would rather hit for 15k in 4 skill hits (with pierce lure or shatter of course).
Comparing bow to knucks is rather unfair from the start imho.
