Re: This a good build? Good gear?!

I know I shouldn't be talking crap since I'm only a level 59, but honestly guys, I'm guessing 90% of you people saying dex builds are the best just for the sake of thinking that you are the best, and you haven't ever even tried a str build, its gamer's nature to disagree and say I'm the best, and I have especially noticed that in this game. I myself am a str build, and that's probs why I'm defending str builds xD, but I know dex builds are good for something just as str builds are.

Strength and dexterity builds both have their pros and cons, and what's this stuff about str builds being harder to play and cost more money? Dex builds cost just as much if you want to be at the top of your game.

Please you lvl 100+'s, before you argue with me, please give str builds a try for about a day, str builds may not be too accurate, but then whats the skill steady aim for? Str builds should definitely use steady aim as it really does increase your accuracy, it seems that everyone is forgetting about this!

On a different note, where the hell can I get double shot, I hear that stuff is the shiet.

P.S I don't mean this in a way that offends anyone, and about the game, maybe I just said retarded things, but you guys gotta stop arguing, I know that ;)

Firstly: lol. Nice to see someone who has a straight way of looking at things.

Anyway, I have indeed tried strength build, even at my current level. With my gear and playstyle a strength build did next to nothing for me. I switched back to full dex instead of full strength (I have tried many builds on both sides) and discovered I could rock the house and actually ( :o ) get kills over mages/warriors/(sometimes not often) rogues that were grped with me, while before... Solo for strength build was like pullin teeth, getting killed every other mob... Solo for dex build I get killed maybe once every hour (normally- I have good and bad days). While bossing its nice to be able to say 'yeah its k I can tank this' or 'no I can heal myself'. Its gotten to the point where some of the druids I know refuse to heal me during low level boss fights, training groups, etc. With a strength build, one just cant do that. Str build is more of a... for lack of a better term a glass cannon approach at my/our level. Str builds can be pretty useful before level 70-100, if used right. but the higher leveled u go, the more u find dex is better than strength.

Yes, I agree that steady aim is a must have for all str builds, However... the stat it is based off of is dex. ;) A ranger needs a bare minimum of 200-300 dex at around level 100ish (light heal, steady aim, etc.)

Double shot can be dropped from different mobs in I believe the sewers, fingals cave, and carrow-also can be bought off of someone probably as well (yes it is another great skill for str rangers).

as a lazy person, i'll comment on the first thing ive seen

too much str, my ranger is 15 lvls lower than u, with 60 str (including bonus), yet 520+ dmg, and i have 385 dex so i get great bonus to my skills including heal (513 heal low first aid) and i have 1.7k health

switch to dex ranger, i find any auto ranger or str ranger pretty weak before dl, also around ur lvl all dex skills are enough to kill mobs much faster (im using light heal sharpshot doubleshot longshot and rest in sharpen btw)

So at my level should I be a dex ranger or a str, I recently got alt book and that other one lol, and could use it to switch my stats. It's just that you mentioned earlier that before lvl 70's you can pull off the str build, but is it better to have a str build or dex? Also pls recommend how my stats should look.

Another thing, as you know, I am just a month into the game, so I don't really no what the stats actually do. I mean, you guys make it sound as if str is pretty much useless yet you have some. Shouldn't it add to your damage yet take away your accuracy from lack of dex? I have like 180 str and 75 dex, and I miss way too much as I have noticed but make hits close 100 on mobs my level, with an ancient warbow.

Adding on to what I said earlier about the stats, is it possible to have a hybrid ranger, as in, str and dex on about the same level with differences of only ten? I think that this would make an awesome ranger by making it not too strong, but not too innacurate. Although from what I see, apparently dex gives damage attack and accuracy, which s pretty op, and str just adds a lot to damage, which is a waste.

I know my ideas are all over the place but its because the ideas came in as I was writing, :) thanks a lot though man, really helped.

bolas isnt useless, but ranger isnt my main, so i dont need bolas
if i need to go for bosses, im logging my warrior for that

anyway, switch to dex
