If rangers had more dps than rogues, that would definitely be a problem and a mistake on OTM's behalf.

Why? Simple, it's because of ranger's flexibility. Why do people overlook this simple fact that rangers are able to support groups through heals, bolas and solo easier by attacking from a range? Rogues are supposed to get the kill as they have no way to kite/attack up close and personal, therefore rely on their DPS to progress as a class. If you are out-dpsing an equally geared rogue, then they are doing something wrong or the game is broken.

You shouldn't be able to out-dps a rogue, it's simple. Sick of not being able to? Quit your ranger and make a rogue.

And not only dps matters on bosses. If that were true mages druids and warriors would be useless. You need debuffs like lures. You need heals. You need tanks. You need a well balanced raid group.

Warriors are made for tanking, druids are made for buffing and healing, mages are made for debuffing, and rogues are made for dps. What are rangers made for? Survivability?

They have a heal. Buffs like sharpen weapons. Debuffs like entangle and bolas. They have better dps than warriors, mages, druids and if they're amazing they can beat a rogue on raid kills. Oh yeah and they can do it all from a distance. You shouldn't be able to have equal dps to a rogue with equal gear.

So ur basically saying rangers are only useful for their buffs and debuffs... We wanna be more than just a class who buffs others and slows down mobs

Play a different class,
I for one enjoy my ranger very much, it's the most entertaining class I've played thus far except maybe a low lvl mage. They are utility based not damage based, if you want that damage play a rogue period.
You can be substitute tank occasionally on smaller bosses, a backup healer, support or pure dps. I'd like you to show me one other class that can do this.

And if you did lose to a rogue with dl quiver equipped-- he either out geared you, beat you in lvl, out timed you or he was the only rogue rocking a dl rondel which sounds unlikely.

The only people who'll truly understand the ranger downfall are the ones who experienced the change from u3 to u4... If u havent experienced that change and ur saying that rangers are a great class...then u need to get some more info on whats happened to rangers since start of u4

I think this is the source of most Ranger angst. All through u3, I may have used 1-2 alt books and 1 rebirth. When u4 came along, I went through dozens of books trying to find a build that worked as well as my u3 build with little luck. It took leveling 46 times to get back to being happy with my ranger. Looking on the bright side, at least I will have some time to enjoy my Ranger before u5 comes along.

If I as a warrior dumped everything into str I hope I"d be able to compare to ranger dps. Sadly I wouldn't be able to. Every class has its purpose. Rangers are the most versatile.

Were talking autos here, warriors coulf easily match a rangers auto with str and damage gear

They can its true…and don't forget shatter thats the epicness of a warrior who is dps, shatter helps warriors hit higher and kill things faster, all rangers have are autos autos autos..our skills suck so hard some people can't decide what useless skill to max sometimes
