K so im a 106 dps ranger. I just used a rebirth book.
My stats were 380...35(110)...30...110
new stats are 427....5(80).....28...95

and my damage went DOWN. What the heck?! new damage is 574 normal, 602 with steady. I dont remember my old damage, but it was like 600 without and 620 with steady. What the heck is going on here?

Recheck what gear your wearing

Well, it doesn't help that you Don't Remember what it was before, lol, so not sure how much we can try to investigate

post your gear, esp anything that adds dmg.

Just Guessing, at your level (with max ability+200), with Dia Bow, your base dmg should Have been around 496. Add the Golden Rejuv quiver, and it goes to 571
With 427 str, that's 511 or 588. Either way it should have gone up.

(if you had a Ice/Fire/Magic quiver instead, numbers would have been higher like 600s)

Edit: ice/fire/magic would be 600s, not 700s. I added 200 instead of 100 lol

Maybe dexterity adds some damage after all?

I prefer a primarily dex build, once strength gets into the higher levels it takes 5 points to get 1 damage it's kind of pointless, I get my damage from gear. with dex steady aim becomes more effective,sharp shot becomes deadlier, and light heal goes up much more

I'm sorry, but how is your post in any way or form relevant to the thread?

I understand its relevance: if I took enough points from dex, my steady aim would have plummeted, and putting a TON of points into strength wouldnt really have helped as much as i had hoped. I still dont think my base damage should have gone down...

*shrug* but you didn't, lol. Or at least 30 pts wouldn't have made That much of a difference.


Like I said tho, not remembering what you had before, doesn't help you figure out IF your dmg did go down... Unless you can post your dmg gear, there's not much else to add.

ok, I got a new ammy, and rebirthed accordingly(took points from foc that i didnt need anymore) so here is my new stats and equipment

Royal ring archery(+150 ranged combat)

Revenant ring regen +20 hp, 5 regen
antique bows ring +25 bow

I also have frozen gloves that I dont use cuz I have hastes

Try this formula yourself, and see too.

=(((3/19)*sqrt(Str)+6%*sqrt(ability)+1)*(weapdmg+add'l physical dmg))+elem dmg

E.g. I calculated you w/ Dia bow and got
=(((3/19)*sqrt(416)+6%*sqrt(1060+200+25)+1)*80)+107), and your dmg would have been 616
