Spear Build (Marco and Stinky read :) )

#1
Hey guys, I'm a level 37 (almost 38) SPEAR ranger. I have a good build for dual leveling with my druid. It has minimal dex (5/6), mediocre focus (40/41) (barely any regen), high vit (75/76) and high str (90/97).
Skills are
  • L. heal: 15/15 for 96 hp
Rapid Shot: 15/15 for 15 seconds
Bandage Wounds: 9/15 for 96 hp
    Meditate: 1/15 7 per tic
Those good? My items are:
  • Sinister Mask of Terror
    Greater Midsummer Jerkin
    Buckler (lol)
    Lesser Midsummer Shoes
    Crestseeker Greaves
    Anc Pike
    and Greater Midsummer Gloves.
Thx for all help

Personally I would dump the bandage wounds and put those points into meditation at least until you are able to get enough regen. Then later on maybe get defensive spikes or entangle. Light heal alone for healing yourself is plenty, unless your going into a support mode and healing others then perhaps both light heal and bandage wounds would be usefull. 40 regen seems like the target number and any more is just gravy. I used a buckler for a long time, good shield drops just dont exist in this game, you basically have to look at either the lux shop or scavenger shop. What I'm doing gear-wise is going for a full diamond set because I find the stats beneficial to my build, with the dex and focus and it has good AC. I'm using a diamond spear and for offhand I switch between Trident of magic and shield of the mountain. I like the damage of the winterking spear 125 pierce but its sooo slow that it makes not usefull 5000. Aside from regen jewelry, i suggest to look for stuff that adds to your attack or your defense. The midsummer/earthstone jewelry has some good stuff. I'm not even playing around with the games armour quests gathering tabs/rems/etc.. i just dont find it enjoyable in the least and the armour is about equal to the diamond stuff anyway so why waist my time. I give all of those drops to the clan. I think your stats are good for your level. I used greater midsummer armour to level up all the way to OW then I started working on my diamond gear, except for spears, keep getting the best one you can find for your level. The vendor shop gear is guarenteed, its just a matter of saving up the $$, the jewlery on the other hand is much harder to get so keep about 15k on hand for those rare times that you see a shout for someone selling a usefull piece. For skills again, I forgot to mention using bolas. Just keep your bolas at 1 skill level and use this pull mobs into your melee range. I suggest getting all of your evaision quests as soon as possible in Lirs reach and start working on training them up. Being melee these skills are even more important to you than to the ranger who simply bolas and attacks from a distance. I suggest not entirely avoiding dexterity since it increases your heals, your defense, your attack, and skills. I love my spear ranger, I leveled my ranger up twice in OW yesterday. He is now level 93. Just post any questions that you have and I'll try to help. Also if Mdimarco posts see what he has to say to get his perspective and advice also. 8-)
