New realistic ranger skill.

So i suggest a new skill...
essentially, its a one time high damage hit. You take a deep breath, aim EXTREMELY carefully, and take the shot. The boss has to be standing still, so you can aim carefully and shoot through the weak spot in his armour. If they are targeting somebody, they are moving too much, and the skill wont work.

it only works on enemies that are not targeting anyone. ("happy" enemies) this would make it so you can only use it once per enemy.
takes a long time to cast
not a super long cooldown.
could possibly do damage strait to the enemy, bypassing their armour and/or resists.

This is sort of like sneaky attack, but if the boss is targeting ANYONE, this skill would not work. Its pretty realistic and portrays rangers the way they would be in real life.

let me know what you think, as well as any pros/cons/changes you suggest.

Unless other classes are fixed, it would be very overpowered. If other classes do get fixed and have comparable abilities it sounds awesome

I honestly do not see why this would be useful? We need a skill that will benefit the other weapons that we can use. They gave us spears, knucks, and bows yet we only have skills usable by bow (with exception of rapid shot on spear). We need a skill that is universal to all weapons such as a "quick strike or pummel"
PS: Yes this is an opinion of my own selfish desires :P

That is true: they do need more skills for the other weaps. But I dont use the other weaps, so i am not the one to be suggesting how to use em. if you use the alternate weaps, then make a topic with some skill ideas. But more skills for bows are still needed. the vast majority of rangers use bows. But you are 100% right, they do need some skills for the alternate weapons.

The basic idea is nice, but I think it can be improved a bit.

I don't like the idea, that the boss or mob has to be completely "peaceful" for it to work.
However, I think it could still be a good skill, where the ranger aims for a weak spot on the target, and shoots. Like a critical hit shot. However, it would have to be like the rogue skill Assassinate, that cannot be used if you are being targeted.
Then, it could be used as either an opening attack, or as a high dmg attack when someone else in your group is being targeted. Once you use it, you get targeted, so you you can only use it once in a boss fight, unless you die and respawn.

im not agree with ur idea night,

firstefull Sneaky atack is a famous skill which is so "bound" to rogues that i do not see the use. U got a rogue in boss fights to do sucha dmg on mob.

the fact about a ranger is that is complete and specific class at the same time

Complete: Rangers have dmg skills sucha barbed and sharp. rangers has 2nd best heal skill in game: light heal. Rangers even have probably one of the best skills CH have ever made: Bolas and they have camo skills sucha Conceal And camo. If i say all this dont u think a ranger has already"enough" and is one of the most complte classes u have in game.

Specific: There is a reason for this, easy to find: Rangers can only use bow and are only class to use bow with quiver.

So i do not see the use having another dmg skill which can make a ranger even overpowered lol.

And idk about a skill as pummel or quickstrike, thats maybe another problem to make a balance in the class ranger.

-1 to a skill with knuckles... Knucks are used to do dps and a skill would take away maybe 2 hits.
If there was a skill universal to all ranger weapons it would have to be like qs, instant completion, in order to not disrupt any auto attacks by knucks esp. I have (finally) tried out a knuck for myself. I was able to do 3-5 hits depending on the weapon that the connacht was carrying. Health bars went down very fast. And my h2h ability is around 170 atm. THe new skill would have to be faster than knucks, literally instant cast, or ppl would not use it and knucks together. :|
