I basically need some help choosing a skill to max. Conceal, Def. Spikes, barbed, any help?

One tip don't choose barbed shot.

Of those three choices, I would go with Def Spike.

Rangers have a lot of choices on how they fight ... And those choices affect which skills you like best ...

I am not a bolas ranger, I admit, I can kill most bosses this way now ... But get old real fast for me ... So I stopped using bolas long time ago. But it is a strong skill to have, I just don't use it, personal preference and fighting style ...

My approach to ranger build now to maximize group benefits ... I like defense spikes and entangle a lot, because they help the whole group produce more DPS and take less damage at same time. And as a ranger, you don't have to be up front tanking to cast them on group members, ...

All that said, three skills i end up maxing all the time ... Are ...

Steady aim ... This one adds damage with every strike, a no brainer IMHO ... In fact i bought rings to make this one ...
44/35 ... Bow shot does 400 damage, steady aim then does another 500 now ...

Sharp shot ... A fast first strike that with the right build can do over 1000 damage, ... I use ring here too.

Light heal ... Another no brainer IMHO ... I use ring here too ... Give me a 800 plus heal most times...

So... IMHO these are the best three and should be maxed whenever possible ...

After these three, i change depending upon whatever build i am testing or playing ...

So the rest of my points are in ...

Defense spikes 25/35
Rapid fire 2/35 (works for timing and recharge of sharp shot when at 2)
Entangle 25/35

That's it for ... My opinion, lol.

Good tip Crystal. However one skill you should always have maxed is light heal.
