How much damage are you getting with Sharpen Weapon?
Please list your Dex and number of skill points you have in Sharpen.

I am trying to determine if this is a good buff with enough points in the skill.

At 450 dex and 35/35, i got 87 dmg

I have 435 dex, and get a mere 57, but that is because i only have it set at 21/35, and am adding stats to it as i level up. while 57 does not seem like much, if u times it by 8 for an aggy fight, it adds over 400 damage every time each person attacks. its made twice as powerful if the members are using haste pots as well. Sharpen weapon really is a must for all rangers

At the same time , keep in mind it's not poison weapon , it's pierce damage and is subjected to resists like all other pierce damage and it sure seems like pierce is highly resisted.

Thanks guys. This is very useful information. In my opinion, the skill has potential especially if you can get a pierce lure on the target.

just to piggy back off this. if pierce is highly resisted does that mean that bloodlust helms are almost pointless these days? I still use mine as it adds 75dmg. but again I believe its pierce so it that being inaffective most of the time? also what about the new quivers. from the pics posted here I was looking at the one that adds 25 pierce. is that the same concept and maybe the 200 magic dmg one is better since it has regan and I have all magic dmg rings??

The damage amount from sharpen is not multiplied but a direct amount of damage , so if sharpen adds the same 75 damage for you it's really like another 10 pierce piece of equipment . If not working with a pierce lure I usually find the lux helms better (actual) damage than my bloodlust , all depends on lure availability . I am finding pierce resistance tough so far while leveling but meh its all good . It really has to do with lures more than anything else IMO . I like the dex quiver more than the str quiver but I'm a dex junkie so my opinion on quiver has as much to do with light heal as it does with dps.

I found bloodlust to be pointless even before update 4. Depending on your str it would give, on average, 70 extra dmg. Taking into consideration the high pierce resist mobs seem to have, the 50 dmg and 150 attack scavenger helm was and is, superior imo.

New lux follows the same pattern, i for one, plan on getting the dex quiver and elemental dmg helm.
