Celtic Heroes

I am planning on using knucks and any advice would be greatly appreciated
Gear:
Warden bp, met bp in 5 lvls
Met greaves
Hero gloves
Met boots
Met helm/ veteran helm once i sell enough plat items
Amulet of slaying
Axe of triumph
Rev invigoration brace
+5 slash brace
Opal knucks
Greater charstone (1 or 2 not sure atm)
Ring of spirits (once i sell my 500 rez and 300 restos :p)
Fabled light heal
Minor sun fire charm of sorcery
Stats:
160 strength (280 with axe)
150 dex
10 focus
200 vit
Skills:
Almost maxed bolas and entangle
Maxed light heal

Sooo since rapid cant be used with knucks anymore I was wondering if it would still be a good idea to use a knucks build. Im also keeping my golden quiver so i can switch between bow and knucks

I love using Knucks but only find it equal to bow when I am on speed elix and exp elix (or combo) AND if the mobs are close together.

Knucks are (just) ok without elix if the mobs are too close for bolas but if mobs are spread out i find them not worth using.

But with no Elix i think bow is always better and does more damage. though of course depends on bow etc..

Thanks! Yeah I've been training with hero haste lix so ill use knucks mainly for training then. I still have my gold ice quiver i can switch out for, and i can use most of my gear with bow. Thanks for the help!

Ah one other thing. How about tanking lower lvl bosses? A lot of the clan is working towards full met so is there a way to tank using knucks? I was thinking royal mountain shield and full met.

Well actually haven't used them for 10 levels as bolas for me is only really great for bosses. I just added them back but will have to see what they are like at lvl 145.

I've been a Lix / Knucks build for a while. Partly because of tight Carroway and earlier the Lava area i was levelling in and partly because i just wanted a change.

Expensive to level as Knucks build compared to Bow.

But when I was your level Frost i still used Bolas when doing H2H levelling so I could back away to heal and let sigils work. It didnt work on all mob types but for some it was an effective strategy.

A ranger is the most versitile class and using knucks may be seen as not enhancing a rangers full potential.

With us higher lvs, the dps has moved to skills.

It seems that the dps of rangers cannot compete with decent dps anymore and rangers r in some respects 'doomed to fail'

My sharpshot hits more than many mages firebolts even with buffs.
Many will argue its cause of my OP sharpshot enhancing items but the matter of the fact is that skill dps will not be possible with knuckleBlades cause after update, rapid shot stoped working with knucks.

U can use it if u want but you will find more dps in skills.


Oh yea and btw, with knuk build, you ain't really gona need much str cause of the lack of piercing damge

Yeah the strengths there so i can have decent autos with my met bow and i can use a spear too.

It's actually gotten to a point where my rapid shot with my froz bow is 1/30.

I spend all skill points on damage skills. I still say keep with bow.

It's what comes natural to a ranger.

My dext is now much higher than my str so my skills hit huge. My sharpshot for example is 44/30 and hits 1.3k on my lving mobs.
