Okay I'm creeping to 100. What gear should I focus on and what skills. I'm pure dex build with longshot 28/20, steady 20/20 and sharp shot 20/20. Have heroic ammy, fire quiver and haste gloves. I have the greythorn gear.

Start getting all the quest items for mete- by the time your 105 you should have collected all the pieces to get the set bonus. That said, your using haste gloves which means you aren't getting the set bonus anyway. Therefore, just get it as soon as u can and turn it in.

I hope you also have light heal as that's a very important skill for ALL rangers. Start trying to use your rings to give yourself extra stat points for other skills you would like to invest in. I would recommend looking around for sharpen as that can be really handy and has a very fast cast (so its not a pain if you only have a couple points in it to take the time to cast).

Once you hit 100 get a haste ring. After that get the fiery quiver of beasts. Make sure your vit is twice your level (lvl 100 should have 200 vit minimum). You may want to think about putting str in your build, especially after 130 (100 should do, if you like that try 200). Once you hit level 150 and get your first piece of dl start thinking of incorporating 300-400 total str in your build. By the time you have full dl @ 180 you should have a minimum of 300 str- even if you decide to stay a dex ranger.

After you get the quiver think about getting either an energy brace or a better ammy, but you shouldn't need that for some time.

DO NOT bother investing in bolas unless you already have pts in it. If you do, keep using it until about 129-130 or you start group leveling. Tight spaces isn't very good to bolas. Longshot's distance requirement sucks, if you haven't already found that out. But unfortunately it is (arguably) our best skill dps at this time- provided you can use it. That said, it IS quite useful so keep it in your build. Sharp shot is a decent enough skill though its dmg drops off around 130 or so, but it can still be great dps- mainly because if you exclude longshot all our other dps skills suck. X.X

Focus on getting a minimum of royal skill rings or better. Join a clan if you haven't already and try to hunt up some aggy gear once you hit 120/140.

If you have any questions let me know. :)

Awesome advice! I do have light heal. I use steady shot but do have 4 points in sharpen. Should I switch over to sharpen all together? Also my rings are royal longshot, grand longshot , galars storm leaf ring and lesser web ring of longshot. I have invested a lot in longshot and use bolas. Also was planning on haste gloves till level enough for haste ring. I have double shot but am planning to use later when I start adding strength.

Not entirely sure what the lesser longshot gives but I will assume its 2. So your current skill rings give you 11 extra points. Assuming you only want to alt once, use 9 points to give yourself 9 free skill points for your extra skill. Use the lesser longshot as extra longshot points (so youll end up with 22/20)- try to get a grand/royal longshot ring from this event if you can, that will help you to not lose the extra dmg boost when you hit the appropriate level.

To be perfectly honest, as a dex ranger you don't really need the steady aim attack boost. So if you wanted to maximize your dps at this point yes I would switch the points around so sharpen is maxed and steady is your extra.

Otherwise everything sounds good. :D

@ Tripphazzard: Only if you need additional energy regen should you buy a bracelet (the +15 energy regen)- otherwise don't bother. And like flamingduckee said, always try to buy from someone first. If you cant find anyone after posting on your world forum, advertising in every area in game for over a week, and contacting your friends and clannies, then perhaps its time to buy from shop. Otherwise dont bother.

I am contemplating switching out sharp shot for double shot. I am now 105. I added 75 strength.

I really didn't like sharpshot until I got the damage bonus from ancient beast armor. It's finally doing decent damage.
