Hey all,
Before people reply spear ranger is rubbish and theres no point of it, id like to say i understand where your coming from and that a BOW RANGER is the best option. However, this games about having fun and trying new things, and believe or not on my endgame ranger ive never tried spear. Does anyone have any idea what type of gear i should be using? Weapons, Jewellery etc, and what kind of Skills/Stats i should be aiming for.
I most likely will switch back to bow but im interested in giving this a good go.
Lastly, are there any spear rangers out there happy with their spear build and who would use over a bow build, or have any good tips about it.

Mordy spear void if possible with str.
Full str and vit when needed
Steady aim, sharp weps, double attack, blas, rapid or light heal
X2 prot attack braces OR hrung damage attack OR sun STR brace
3x spear rings and a reaper ring (can use skain poison set also for mordris, hrung etc). OR valour rings if cant get spear rings
Stargem str ammy
Skain blade misc
Mordy attack and damage helm
Full edl/dg
Lvl 6 tier 4 spider and wolf battlemount
Dagger offhand

What if this player can't obtain any of these items? As of recently steady and rapid didn't work with spear. Did something change in the last month?

What raid boss gear do you have access to? Can you get a starter str ammy or runic ammy?

steady aim does not work with spear. You need to cast with a bow equiped then swap back to spear. Afaik rapid shot works like normal with spear.

For leveling and non chaos mobs, i played around with spears instead of bows and they are about equal to bow for this unless you have a gele bow. I enjoyed spear more for this because it was something different. However bow will always beat spear no matter what at eg. Nothing beats the edl quiver.

2 imperial hrung heat dmg braces (ones hp and ones attack)
no spear rings. need to work on those

i dont really want to be buying another ammy so out of Runic/Heat dmg set/150 wyld what would you recommend?
