As many of you know, rogue skills are broken.

Right now, there is no point investing any points into strength based skills (Maybe with the exception of assasinate).

Rather than using strength based skills, you can invest your points into dex based skills as they should over all give you more damage due to the effects given. Dex based skills also use less energy, meaning you can take skills point out of focus and invest them into another stat.

I hope this helps, really, strength based skills are a waste.

i agree overall, however used properly the strength ones are useful

sneaky- use at the start of a fight, or regularly if you have rings boosting it
assass- use whenever possible
qs- time INBETWEN melee hits, adds considerable dps
rend- idk... lol i have mine at 45/35 and its ok, but at 35/35 it was garbage

overall, rob is right, skills like smoke and poison are going to help more unless you want to sit and time all your skills perfectly so that you dont kill any of your melee hits

Personally, I think rend is useless. Quick strike? Maybe it does do extra damage but way less than my auto. Sneaky attack is pretty decent, but takes a lot of energy. As for assassinate, I dont have it yet My problem with poison wep and fast reflexes is that i forget to use em before battle. They shouldn't be so easily interrupted.
If i had it my way, rend would be doing half my auto with each tick i have it at 13/20 but I don't exactly use it.
And thats my list of complaints

if rend lasted say, 10 tics it would be worth it. as things are now, the cast time is so long, and the skill effect so short, you lose dps by casting it (unless you have it buffed up with gear.

interesting. perhaps its time to say goodbye to rend

+1 on timing, I always use my qs inbetween melee so that I dont loose any DPS. obviously if you have a faster dagger or heroic gloves/speed elixir etc this is gonna be alot harder for you but if you manage to get it like a second nature then it really works well.

Quickstrike just adds damage and does not effect normal auto attacks, it just visually appears this way but the damage all comes out on the mob correctly.

This is why I want me, Guffy, brookie, and you piglet to do beta. Fix the skills. One of the few who have tested skills. Rend is only good from what I've seen at 49/35. Sneaky to me is honestly for pvp and 1-3 star mobs or maybe when trying to ks or someone trying to ks. It's a quick high damage attack for low health mobs. Should have a faster cast time. As for assassinate its good skill, but should do more damage. As piggy said today, "it doesn't do enough damage for how much energy it takes" I totally agree. Quickstrike still messed up. Cant be "timed" like preupdate. Was best skill preupdate. By far.

Rend works well for me at 45/35 in short fights, long fights it isn't worth the energy. And I refuse to use skill rings, only reason my rend is that high is because I have two aggy +5 rend bracelets

Honestly though try and remember you 4 are all looking at rogue skills from the perspective of probably some of the best equipped rogues in the game . I am in no way saying you are wrong there should be much better payoff for use of skills at high levels . I don't think the devs envisioned the type of dps put out by auto the way it does with the type of gear you guys have . You guys might not at all like the solution to fixing skills, it may be that to fix skills the easiest way is to nerf auto damage in some way . Remember , lower level rogues even some poorly equipped higher level rogues benefit greatly from The use of damage skills .
