In terms of locking 4* and 5* edl, assuming two rogues are equal in ability and all things equal, which is better for locking -
Spear or edl dagger. Lixed and unlixed should be taken into consideration for this.

This is pretty easy to decide based on these factors:

1. It's not wise to use hastes on 4* and 5* when they are such a rare commodity, so dagger trumps spear when it comes to speed. But if you're a lix junkie, it changes things a bit.

2. The proc. EDL weapon proc can range from 1000 - 2000 divine damage on average. This can be a game changer on locks and cutting down boss time.

3. Availability of sneaky attack with dagger. Sneaky attack is unavoidable and one of the better skills for rogues. You cannot use sneaky attack with your spear.

If you have both of these weapons then use the void STR spear if you're hasted and an ice lure is present on Rev, ( lvl210 EDL ) and Crag ( lvl205 EDL ) only.

Dagger for reasons stated above, spear for rev and crag 6 hasted as above, divine proc on edl dagger is 2-3k, DL is 1-2k

^ also consider edl doesn't proc full dmg on 4/5. They lock so fast anyways that the boosted first auto dmg and the 200 str for skills would make halberd better on 4* and maybe 5* as well. In terms of 6* the lower your attack or higher the boss def the more effective spear is comparably. In addition to 205/210, I'd take halberd on any boss with relatively low armor

yes they do, they don't proc full damage on adds, the 4 and 5* boss spawn has 0 divine resist like the 6* taking 100% damage.
Your right about 4* spawns but divine strikes can be the difference between a win and a loss on 5*s

Maybe, but with the skill spam how many autos are you using on a 5*? Assuming it's a heavily contested ffa, not too many. The expected value of proc on any given hit is 120 (3000*.8*.05) which isn't much considering void halberd autos much higher and boosts either str or dex by a combined 200 for higher ss and qs (and phs have lower armor which boosts the relative effectiveness of the extra pierce dmg). They are quite a bit slower though, which makes an accurate dps comparison difficult. On a longer fight without hastes edl dagger would be better. Regardless there isn't a huge difference

5% x 8 is 40% which is chance of a proc throughout a whole group. That's alot

well longstory short from my experience it's rare there is no procs during a 5* lock battle on my server and the group that proc more than the other usually wins unless one group is a lot better/worse than the opposing. If you wanna use a void halberd because in your opinion it's better that's fine by me, I'd recommend for the OP to use an EDL dagger though

Hmm well I wasn't taking proc into account as my experience with proc is horrible. I've never had my dagger or bow proc on a 5*. On a 6* hasted, yes, but even then I've never gotten either weapon to proc more than 5 times even on longer battles like necro or mord.

That's pretty odd, what is your attack? My weapon procs pretty consistently
