So my current setup is hybrid tank so I can level without rebirthing all the time.

I have a base of 105 str (300 when lvling geared) and 455 vit (530 current lvling geared)

Gear stands at:-
Full astral armour
Chromos opal long blade main hand
Freezing axe of triumph off hand
Spectral talisman of midnight
Ice crystal brooch of hearth
Bracelet of life
Bracelet of spirits
Icecrystal band of crusader
Icecrystal band of noble
Couple of shatter rings.

My resists are:-
Pierce/slash/crush - 495
Fire - 663
Cold - 763
Magic - 563
Chaos -400

I have no problem levelling like this, but certain bosses (bladewing full for example) are dealing massive damage with skills and taking chunks out of my 4.5k hp quicker than I can resto them back in. So I'm figuring I need a shield for when I'm taking a more tanky role. (At lvl 110 I'm rly the only active warr in a fledgling clan)

So my dilemma is trying to choose between shields in the 100 lux shop

The shield of the rampart.
Armour 200
Resist heat 200
Resist cold 200
Resist magic 200
Vitality 60
Physical evasion+250


Or the shield of the reaver
Armour 100
Resist heat 100
Resist cold 100
Resist magic 100
Defence 150
Strength 120
30-60 dmg to attackers permanent shield

Or would I simply be better putting up with the damage and continuing the charge to 150 and buy something then?

Do you tank Bladewing without a druid?

She is tough for sure. In my time there were no Carrowmore or Otherworld lux. I tanked Bladewing in full meteoric only and there were no lux bracers/rings/charms. Of course I always had a druid and never relied on pots. Getting up to 3k hp was quite difficult, I suppose it was a different game then. No armor set bonuses, no hp gear, etc.. There were no evasion abilities either. I found using the Avalanche sled with 100 cold resist was better than the Mighty Crown Shield of Spirits I was using, so buff up your cold resist as high as you can with the newer shields you can get from Carrow or OW.

Yeah. I'm also the clans highest druid right now. Lol. Though we do have several up and coming. So unless we're really struggling I tank without druids and just hammer restos and a regen lix.

Well, i would say leave bladewing, shes not worth it, but im assuming ur clan as a lower~mid lvls clan would need her, first, as aileron said, get a druid, bladewing is a tough ***, and even for higher lvl she hits hard, many skills as well.

As for the shield, although i rather saying 'save the gold', get the rampart, the rampart/bastion are much better tanking wise than reaver/ravager, they're good for certain things and builds, but they're not as good for tanking.

Okay. So sounding like leave the shield for now and just put up with the damage. If I can make it to 150 like that while still increasing the bosses we're tackling then I'll do it that way. I really don't have much issue with the other bosses we're fighting atm so will save the gold for as long as possible

At 150, i suggest having a shield with u, even as dps i find that i use it pretty often, the shield of bastion is a great shield, and it'll help u a lot on tanking, a bit costly tho, 500k from shop, i had to buy it from shop since i didnt know and i still dont know anyone whos selling it.

I wouldn't say my build is extremely tanky tbh. While the amount of money I've thrown at gear makes it possible to tank bosses my level I'm still putting out what I consider to be reasonable damage and the luxury of money means I use combos whenever i level so the delay on skills means I just auto and shatter for the most part with the occasional pop of my talisman.

I'm sure there is a more efficient way to be levelling but I like having some money in reserve and not having to buy alt books on a daily basis.
