i never understood this. why are axes better than hanmers if hanmers do more damage?

if the wep is weaker (not by a lot) but faster, it beats the stronger and slower, not only in matters of time, also skills that are based on wep's delay will be faster as well, and im sure u want to use as much skills and melees as u can during shatter

If you are having energy issues a slower weapon is better. With the slower weapon (assuming same DPS for each weapon) your skill hits will do more damage for each energy point used. If energy is not a concern, a faster weapon will allow you to hit the skills more often.
