With good druids u can tank many things at full str too, I had I think 3 druids tho to tank Hrung at full str (one wasnt high lvl), and 1 to tank 195 and 185 main at full str. But to be a backup tank is useful for the bosses that can be killed without everyone, thats why I kept my shield of bastion (still have it although I now have dl shield).

I'm surprised about this post, and really interested... thinking on try that build aswell seems a nice way to balance the tanking levelling that OTM has completely annihilated in this game!

Lets talk about stats geared, how should i put my points?

POINTS: 885
GEAR: STR +380 / DEX +130 / VIT +10

I'm going to buy the 180 Offhand Shield (here are the stats):
1st Shield (Fortitude) VIT +180, Armour 200, Defence +300, +30 health reg x tick
2nd Shield (Endurance) Armour +300, Res Heat,Cold,Magic +300, Defence +300, Physical, Spell, Mov, Wound, Weak Ev +300

Not because Ive tried, but Ive seen ppl who did. Regardless, u can be hybrid for lvling without a shield, u shouldnt tank while lvling (unless ur the clan's main tank and lvling forward cus of update), and u gain more xp as full dps. Its cheaper to lvl with shield, but its better to be hybrid with axe. A build I did like was a rogue with shield, using the str shield tho.

Don't use I've used it myself and even at full str ur dps is lower then at 50% str with offhand axe I've used build long tine ago and I think its better to lvl with dps offhand till u hit endgame or close to endgame, u will have a lot of trouble locking bosses or kill at a decent speed.

i'm 180+ and using a shield build, well i can say i've no problem levelling or bossing.

When u take a offhand axe and put like 100 points in vit u still notice the axe does more dmg.
That's from my experience so now I use runic dagger for dps and runuc shield for tank
