#3There is an awesome post somewhere (I'll link if I can find again), where someone has put alot of time and effort into testing this. And I believe that once you start going passed the 2500 armour mark it doesn't justify the extra points with the damage it negates. Assuming you would need to sacrifice in other areas to increase it. I'm a pretty noob end game tank to be fair but I just tested with full edl/runic shield of endurance/no jewellery and prostance (lvl 221) only. I was at 2092, 2342 with jewellery. I have tanked everything other than Gelebron (not attempted yet), from my opinion successfully. And I definitely have nothing special gear wise.
So if you are hitting close to the 2.3-2.5k mark with just prostance I'd say you'd be better looking towards Def and vit jewellery wise. Because I'm guessing once lix'd and if you add bark you are looking at 4000-4500 easily.

#4I think my tank has 2.4k armour, but on the other hand he has 2 armour hrung braces (one has def too) as hes not a main tank, but doesnt have edl shield.

#5If you have full EDL with EDL shield your armor is high enough already, focus on jewellery boosting vitality and defense like ceal said. With protective stance even with a mord helm you will have 2.2k armor and with an armor lix you got tons. Although this event ammy with 200 vit 1k hp 150 armor is pretty decent so dont look past this because it adds armor

#8I always prefer defence over armour. Although all bosses have melee dmg that includes physical, elemental and chaos dmg (Id assume mordy is slash+heat and necro is slash+cold, while proteus is slash+magic and Gele is crush+magic, assuming so), u always have druid to increase ur armour AND resists. Armour includes 3 resists while for specific boss u only need 1 usually, and armour adding gear is really not that effective. Defence can help u avoid melees which is better due melees being physical (the only type affected by armour) and magical and chaos, which is tons of different resists (but chaos resist is important nonetheless). Druid also has bark + wards which u should always have covered as well as wind. Armour from gear is like 100 at most from godly ring, quite weak, and only helps at bosses' physical dmg. Considering bosses melee with elemental dmg too and most raid bosses have elemental dmg skills it can be smarter to increase those (hrung seems like pure physical and chaos, mordy's skills are heat/chaos, necro's skills are cold/chaos, prot's are slash/magic/chaos and gele's are magic/poison/chaos).
