the important question now is if the defence from 100 dex is lower then the defence 100 vit gives you. we could even calculate shield wall and prot stance in it but as another question. when you have 16k hp and a boss hits you with 1k autos. youre dead in 16 hits. but if you got 10k hp and the boss hits you with 1.5k dmg and you also dodge you will survive longer.... aftter 4dodged hits the lower hp was already worth it. and when you tank a endgame boss you wont need to be able to get attacked by 3x Dragon fire since theres a cooldown and the smart people use shield wall anyways... so tell me why is a high hp pool the most important thing for you tanks?

Again its not the health pool, for gear i dont suggest health gear at all, full defence, its the vit that matters.

What i mean is, not that health pool is useless, but its not the main reason, vit is a boost to tanking skills and health pool, while dex is a boost to defence only, looking at the health pool yes vit gives more health than what dex gives for defence, but defence and health are both different stats, one is raw, one is matter of luck. VIt vs Dex tho, its vit for me at least, the higher vit is, the higher the boost from skills that are affected by vit is, and between those skills theres def form, which boosts ur defence, again not to mention there are other skills.

For dps, i dont need the attack bonus from dex, and i wouldnt care about the defence either, so im not even considering dex for dps.

Now back to tank, if i would compare health+skills boost to defence, i would prefer health and skills boost, but on gear, if i would compare between just health and defence, it would be defence. Health is easier to rely on, but its not the only factor when u compare vit to dex, if vit would be just health, and dex just defence, it would be dex (up to a certain point).

Well first, u can get 1.5k base defense easily from gear. My defensive form can get anywhere from 1-1.3kdefense. If ur putting points in dex as a tank how much points will u need for it to be useful? 250+. Investing 250 points into dex u could of got about 2k hp+. 250 vit/2k hp also increasing ur tank skills therefore increasing ur performance>250 dex/ 500 defense that can easily be put togethor with the right gear.
