Best weapon for eg dps?

What would you say is the best weapon for eg dps (pvp or pve)? Thinking about transitioning from axe to sword.

It depends largely on what gears you have access to.
Havocs is a huge game changer, giving axe builds a huge advantage over all other dps warrior builds pre-apos.
Without any lure, EDL sword is actually the strongest weapon against Gele, Prot, Necro, Hrung and Mordris.
If you have full DG, Dino sword is strongest; Dino Axe is strongest otherwise.*
*based on same tier, and you need at least 800 elemental damage from non-weapon sources for dino sword to be better.
This is for PVE only.
