How about the spears.. I hear no one talking about them.

First of all im a warrior named " mrbojangles " on gwydion and lvl 31 ... I have resetted my stats just tonight and am rebuilding them up as tank.. I have been using ancient spear and a shield... My question is... Should i keep training spear if im tanking? I personally like the spear but it is alittle slow but i had no problem killing with it... Will it be viable to continue training with it till i reach a high level and then switch it? ... Sorry if i sound noobish but i am still learning about the warrior class and its my first character i made... Any info would be highly appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

If you like spears then there's no problem continuing with them, it's good to have a few weps with high abilities so you can use a range of weapons.
Me, personally I have always favoured the sword due to it's medium damage/medium speed that works well for me, another reason why I use swords is because so far all of the current warrior armour/wep quest chains give you a sword as a reward, warden sword, meteoric sword, frozen meteoric sword.
So I find it best to have my sword ability maxed to make me most affective with these weapon.

Spear is good - especially when you are boss hunting. The advantage you have is that you can use the same lure as rangers, which your mage would appreciate.
I don't think spear can be the ONLY weapon you use, but it works in a combination.

Hey i'm a lvl 135 warrior, up untill this bonus ability weekend I only had sword maxed and blunt was about 900. But then i got my spear ability to around 800 and bought a diamon pike. I think the spear is good, but as Rhysjm said swords are the main ability you need. So i suggest keep sword maxed and if you want, train others in the mean time

I wasnt a fan of spear until I got my winterking.. I suppose theyre like the under dog class really. My winterking is awesome with 125 damage but I gave away my last set of haste so I find that my wk is a bit slow so gotta get some haste back before I will use.
But like the guys have said, you have got to keep sword in mind as it is the main ability, and you will dfind that later in game the sword is the main quest weapon. So I kept this in mind and am constantly using meteoric until I get the haste.
