Sigils and shield bash

I know I've said that it works before, but my brother was testing it over the last few days and we weren't overly convinced anymore...
If you use shield bash on something and you neither use any other combat skills or are under the effect of a combat-inducing status (such as howling wind, incinerate etc), will your sigils kick into effect for one tick?

It almost never works. The bash is hardly 5s and to get the sigils to work, you have to time it in the middles of a skill so that even when the stun is over, the mob must cast their skill, giving you time to sig up. That includes running away to stall.
It's not reliable at all.

Ah, I was hoping you'd be the first to reply.
Thanks heaps for that. I wonder if there's a decent way around it, like bashing and then running 5 meters back? Or is the time between stun expiring and sigils working too great?

I have a theory as to why it is not reliable. The stun may be 5 seconds but the animation may be included as combat, reducing your out-of-combat time. Sigs work on tics which are 5 seconds apart so that may be the reason.
Another theory I have is that tics start 1 second after combat ends which wouldn't affect sigils much at all except for prevention of bash and sigilling.
What do you think?

I completely agree with you with the animation point. To me, the stun really does not feel like a full 5 seconds and this could very well be hindering our chance to buy enough time for sigils to kick in.
About the delay though, I would have to do some more testing. Problem is, my brother has lost interest in this topic and I'm taking a small break from the game so i'll have to get back to you on that in a couple of days or so.
Anyone else reading this, please feel free to help us test this.

Yes, I swear it's not 5 seconds. It must be 5 seconds including the time it takes to cast. I don't know.
When I used to use shield bash, I would immediately tap on the icon to see how long they would stay bashed.
It always read "0 seconds remaining" even when I immediately checked!

I have the exact same issue! I thought i was the only one experiencing it but finally someone posted about it, ive tried to tap and look at the time too but best i could get was 2 seconds.... I really think this needs to be fixed... Oh and another thing, when bash is about to wear off, the animation of the mob is still stunned but i see myself taking damage... Just me or is it same with everyone?

There's a glitch were a melee class can hit u from a great distance after getting bolaser or frozen i found it out my self on my druid dueling and when my warrior dueled rangers i could still auto attack hit them as they were running away. Then when i finally get close to them my skills don't work at all ill be inside his body and it'll say out of range and i just log when i see that.

Usually is not game glitch but just a bit of lag.
The sigils work but the condition to make work are bit extreme , you got turn off auto attack, Then dissable auto buttom before you cast shield bash , skills don't count as in-combat so its possible but in real-combat time and all scenarios is not worth it .

Its not lag. The animation of shield bash (the mob not moving) lasts for 5 seconds but the combat reengages after like 3s
