New Warrior

Howdy,

Started a warrior the other day and noticed that a lot of these post pertain to lvl 50+ warrios and not necessarily us weaklings. I play like an hour a day and like the survivability and damage of the warrior. I am going to respec and retrain this characted since i was very green coming in. I do have a few questions though, if you all will indulge me.

1) How does everyone acquire so much gold/platinum? (my lvl 19 ranger has like 1.2k gold..thats it. I know about the free trials for plats) daddy wants some luxury items!
2) Can i buy most of the trainable skills from a trainer or do some of them only drop from monsters? i.e trade with someone. Some of the skills mentioned i do not see on the trainer at the castle.
3) Can i become a dual weapon warrior at whatever level i can find an offhand weapon?

I think in my respec I will go 3:2 str/vit and just keep chugging. Thanks for listening and I appreciate the input..positive or negative

There is a warrior skill trainer in the castle. Although, I don't know why because every skill is obtained free by doing the main quest line. There are a varitey of skills obtained by other methods. Two of your skills will be constructing book pages and parts (Sweeping blow and Enduring Guard). Warcry is dropped from bosses in the otherworld. There are several skills dropped by mobs in the three new zones (carrowmore, sewers, and tunnels) and the skills are shatter, sheild wall, defensive stance, and rupture.

For your stat points I would recomend 2:3 str:vit rather than 3:2, as its more important to have a bit more health.

oh boy thats alot of questions
ill try to answer all as best as i can

1. most people below level 80-ish cannot get any luxury items without buying plat as it is just too hard to farm gold at a lower level
it gets easier to make money as you level up
it also takes LOTS of time and effort even if you are a higher level to get those luxury items

2. the trainer has most of the skills but some only drop from monsters
certain monsters in certain areas each have a tiny chance to drop a skill book

shatter, double attack, rupture, shield wall, and defensive formation all drop from mobs throughout the game
im not sure which ones though off of the top of my head :| but maybe someone else knows
warcry is the last skill and it drops from a boss in the Otherworld

all the other skills are available in the shop

3. offensive offhands are usually very expensive weapons
the first available ones are bought in the Otherworld luxury shop
the offensive offhands the shop has are golden dagger of venom, golden trident of ice/fire/magic, and golden blade of ice/fire/magic
the golden venom dagger costs 250k, the golden tridents cost 225k each, the golden blades cost 250k each
there are also cheaper versions of each offhand (bronze/silver types) but they are far less popular than the golden ones
the level requirement for these offhands is lvl 50

there are more luxury offhands available at lvl 100 and lvl 150 but lvl 50 offhands are the first type you can use dual weapons

if you dont think you can afford these, there are also offhand torches (dropped by some mobs in last event) and battleskewers (dropped in this event)
you can probably buy them off of players for a cheap price but they arent as good as the luxury offhands

lastly i would suggest a 2:3 strength vit ratio
strength does not affect your damage as much as you think and it is more worthwhile to put them into vitality

thats my confusing answer to your questions
if i wasnt clear on anything or you need clarification ask :D

I appreciate the replies. I just thought there must be some little trick to farming the gold more efficiently or something. Well, i will redistribute the points for a 2:3 str/vit and go from there i guess. Just putz across the countryside. Thanks for the input.

its not easy to anyone to get the gold without plat, but u will do it at some point
trade/buy, farming, bosses, scamming (jk, dont actually scam)
there are diff ways to get diff skills

there are the main questline skills u will get along lirs questline, like pummel, giant swing, bandage, medidate and recup, not sure about proc stance
all the first skills are buyable at the castle shop, but, all the skills there open also along lirs questline, skills that u got from quests and skills that u didnt get like shield bash, maybe taunt, not really sure how is it

there are the ow skills, that drop only from ow faerieland quest bosses, the only ow warrior skill is warcry tho

there are the pages quests, one at lvl 45 and one at 60 i think, the first requires grok pages 1-5, red book bindings and red book cover, those will get u Sweeping Blow

the other one requires zalza pages 1-5, blue book bindings and blue book cover, those will get u Enduring Guard

the new update skills are from new maps, such as sewers, fingals and carrowmore
shield wall, skewer, rupture, shatter, double attack, defensive formation, i think thats all

im pretty sure that u can get all manuals from carrow unlike other classes, some are easier to get from fingals (like shatter and rupture), and skewer is really easy to get (and almost useless, almost) from sewers, but also drops at carrow - those 3 maps will be pretty high for u tho

the 2:3 str-vit ratio will work untill str hits 300, including bonuses from gear, thats the plateau which means str will barely affect after that
for main hand, i really suggest axe, since rupture was added axes and hammers became useful, and axe is a great wep, with medium speed and high dmg, untill u get dl sword (altough i find void trident of zeal/celerity better for tanking, gives defence/health..)

use offensive offhand and not shield, lvling with shield will be annoying and slow, same as lvling as full tank

2 skills that are imo the best skill

offensive : Shatter, reducing the foe's armour, increasing overall dps (does melee dmg too), fast casting, pretty high energy cost, fast cooldown, wep's delay.
defensive : Protective Stance, increasing ur armour, by a lot, great skill, low energy cost, fast casting, lasts for 1.5mins and 1 min cooldown, great skill

lvling as full dps is the fastest, but the most costly, lvling as hybrid is really cheap and fast
common hybrid skills would be:

shatter - maxed
protective stance - maxed
double attack/pummel - maxed (really ur choice, i love pummel more but atm i use both)
rupture/pummel/double attack - if ur not using blunt/axes, choose the skill u didnt pick, do not choose giant swing, altough the high dmg, its simply, Crap.
rest of skill pts in def form

u will not have extra skill pts so soon, sometimes if u use them u will prob use alt book when the skills lvl go up (if at 60 they're up to 20, u will start having extra skill pts, and at 90 they'll go up to 25, but ofc the cap is 50)
also u will prob not be able to max 4 skills at first, but u will max all of them pretty fast

gear and all the rest, really too long to write since ur only low lvl, will take time to write all training spots/best gears available up to high lvl

Thanks for the advice. I am rocking a tower shield and battle axe, but is there an offhand for use at lvl 30 other then a torch? I have a torch with like 5 heat damage. I enjoy the survivability, but i am not liking the misses (only 5 dex). I figure i will upgrade to an ancient axe in shalemont..like lvl 35-40? Are there purchaseable offhand weps for below lvl 50? Sorry for the questions, but i am not in a guild and a majority of these posts in this forum pertain to much higher level players then I.

Thanks in advance.

If you are able to get enough gold for 30k you can go to castle and buy yourself a silver blade of battle. it has no lvl requirement.

most offhands are expensive for lower levels
cheapest would be silver blade of battle (30k), tower shield, torch

i dunno though....i thought tower shield was enough to get me to about 55 leveling efficiently then i went about 25 levels going slowly (55-80) with it
at that point i bought a little bit of plat and farmed/bossed and got myself a golden blade of ice

if u cant get any good offhand, such as nice battleskewer/torch (i believe 35 dmg is lvl 30, and 55 is lvl 40), keep the shield

dex wont be what will help u with misses, 1 dex point = 1 attack + 2 defence, its good for classes that require dex, but most of warriors dont use it (i have 5 dex as well)
what helps to have high attack is ur main wep ability, which means, if ur using an axe, keep axes maxed

each axes ability point = 1 attack
every 25 ability points (?) = 1 dmg
im not 100% sure, ik each point = 1 attack, but not exactly sure on dmg

Every 10=1 dmg
