Better tank helmet? End game advice

#1
So I have had a dilemma for a while now.... Right now, im trying to level to 190, to be more useful as a tank, and want to know which of these helmets is better. Im not really good at these stat things, but notice although the mordris helmet adds vitality and defence? The benefits of the dragonlord helmet includes resists and armor, which in the end, is more important than 500 health and 600 def correct? I just want some opinions and facts, and maybe if you have done some few tests on which helmet is more useful as a tank.

Well honestly it depends on your situation, if you seem to be lacking in health but having pretty good armor then maybe switch the dl helm for the voidscale. If it were up to me I would choose the voidscale helm though because the 127 armor lost can easily be made up for by a maxed shield of bark. But as I said, its depends on your stats. (Lol I don't have endgame experience just using knowledge from creeping the forums for months, sorry if I'm wrong)

It really doesn't matter if shield of bark can make up for the armor, because abundance can do that just as well with the health. The problem is, is that I'm not sure 500 health is better than a helmet that might protect me more than 500 Dmg over time. Also this helmet isn't void, it's dark

Dark helm of the nights, its not only 600 defenec and roughly 675 health, vit is still a bonus to all tanking skills except shield bash. Not to mention evasions and energy if u like.

Ive seen tanks who prefer darkscale helm of the night as it gives 100 dex, 1k health and 600 defence, its debateable and as im not a tank i cant say which one is better.

Mordy helm vs DL helm

HP:675 vs 200
Evasions: 600 vs 200
Defence: 600 vs 150
Armor: 5 vs 132
Resists: None vs All
Skill bonus: none vs shatter

3:3 right here, that didn't solve unfathomable. ***. As a tank, shatter won't be used much, as your points are mainly going to be in defensive formation, shield bash, shield wall, protective stance, taunt, etc. Shatter is most likely going to be covered by another warrior. Anyway, for a tank the skill bonus is useless and the mordris helm has like 3 times of the DL helm's stats. Use the mordy helm

I think the choice is obvious. Put it this way, if you had to choose between these 2 rings which would you take:

Ring 1
127 armor
93 heat/ice/magic resist
160 chaos resist
+5 shatter

Ring 2
425 HP
450 Defence
900 Energy
+400 phys evasion
+600 weakening evasion
+600 spell evasion

The Mordris helm is much better. Let me explain why, if you cant see it yet. Firstly, armor significance plateaus unlike defence (not as much) and HP. Im sure you already have 2000+ armor which makes an extra 130 insignificant. Secondly, 93 resistance is also insignificant. Yes there are 3 resistance types but how many bosses use attacks with all 3 elements at end game? None. They only use one type usually. So u are only taking advantage of one resistance type in most cases. Thirdly, shatter bonus is pointless when tanking, dps should be using shatter with high strength not the tank. So that leaves 160 chaos resistance, which may be more important than the other stats. You see all attacks from raid bosses have a chaos dmg component. So increasing your chaos resistance will reduce all damage but to a limited extent. Since we dont have formulas for these things its difficult to quantify all this, but despite this i still believe based on experience, and all the other benefits of Mord helms, that mord helms are better.
