I was wondering if it would be a good idea to max rupture, double attack, shatter and shield bash and switch between golden trident (or blade if I sell trident and get one) and any shield to bash then switch back to offhand and use rupture, double attack and shatter. I have hero ammy and golden trident if that's important.

Seems like a big pain in the rear for very little benefit if any. You could use those points you put into shield bash for an offensive skill and just kill the mob instead of playing with it.

this is a common pvp build. even before the update, people would start with shield and bash then switch to use dmg offhand.
now with the quick switch update, this can be a great idea, i suggest trying it out, its only an alt book.
