Axe?:

Run Pummel, Frenzy, Shatter and Rupture

OR

Spear?:
Level 120 - Adamant Spear
140 - Wyrmbone
160 - Ancient Wyrmbone
180 - Mordris
Run Pummel, Frenzy, Shatter and Double Attack


Which is better and WHY?

Id go axe because it's better dps and you can use rupture. I would switch out pummel for double attack tho.

I've always used hammers, but that's my own thing cuz I'm rebellious lolz. As for your post, I've heard as of late due to the hotbar swap ( if ur up to the task ) that using spears for general weapon and hot swapping to a blunt, cast rupt, and swap back is most effective. If you don't want to go through that process ( I don't ) then axe is the go to

Eh I'm the same way with how I use hammers, I could care less about the norm. I just love rupture so it's worth not using spear

Im a spear user (my skin spear and my mordy spear), using my voidbolt halberd of str, running 4135/4125/4105 with 80/70/50 dmg ring (different types), and I use Rupture all the time at lvl 50 (I swap royal hrung dmg/attack/melee combat brace to imperial frostiron brace back and forth) with 1175 DoT dmg and somewhere over 7k dmg. Whos the rebel here? I get the best of both worlds.

Eh if you train yourself to that level to do the swaps, it's a worthwhile investment. I just stick to the easy way

It takes maybe like 10 seconds to get to that "level". But I guess you like wasting extra lix and pots due to much lowered dps lol

With hotbars swap its very easy, I did practice on that beforehand on swapping without hotbars and its still possible.
