So I am wondering whether it will be safe to buy an iPad mini. Are there major issues with lag/crashing/logging_in? If not, could an ipad mini user describe their experience to me?

I think the ipad mini issue was solved quite a while ago, should be no problem.

Fluttershy is right, the issue with the iPad Minis was fixed in the last update to the app.
