Ragnor Spawn Times

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind Ragnor's long spawn times? This is a daily quest, the purpose of which is to get people to log on everyday. What is the point of having long spawn times so people get bored camping him and stop logging in everyday? I have been camping him for over thirty minutes now. In that time, Crammok has spawned three times.

Thanks, Anglz.

Well in that case, Butler, I would say the spawn is longer than the others due to the level.

1. In any given world, there are less high levels than low/mid levels. So one factor is that there is less of a bottleneck on the high end mob. I think it isn't that he is slower, so much as the lower mobs have been designed to be fast for the amount of low/mid levels.

2. He gives a massive amount of exp, and a decent amount of gold. Yes, it is a daily, but it is also a quest. There has to be a little bit of effort put into the kill. Otherwise, why not just award 100K exp for logging in?

3. Combining 1 and 2, the effort matches the reward.

Your given numbers show that he spawns in a window, rather than being on a timer. It is like watching paint dry because you are just standing there, collecting pumpkins. I rarely wait in the arena. I go do other things and come back. If my Gladiator still isn't up, I go and do other things and come back. Simple as that.

Dersu,

I understand what you are saying. Perhaps you missed my point. Daily quests are supposed to get people to log on. Pie quest and rat quest take 15 minutes each. Why should Ragnor take up to 45 minutes? I'm not getting an item and I am only getting about 5% XP, which takes about 30 minutes of grinding to get. Why should quest be harder than normal grinding? Shouldn't it be some kind of reward? At least I'm DPS, I feel bad for druids and support mages hammering away at him for 10 minutes.

Because these gladiator daily quests were put in as a guise to lure more high levels to duke it out at the Arena while waiting for him to spawn.

This is probably more correct that the answers I gave...
