The situation:
I have always bought plat by using my credit apple, which was linked to my account on an 2g iPod Touch. Since I can no longer log into the game on my 2g, I need to find a work-around.

Since U4, I have been playing on my wife's iPad, which is linked to her account, and uses a different credit apple.

I do not want to charge plat to that apple, so what are my options?

The Theory
I suspect it is a situation of somehow logging her out of the iPad, logging in with my Apple ID, buying the plat, and then re-logging after I get my plat. If so, how do I do that?

I really don't want to buy iTunes apples, but if I can't use my credit apple on her iPad, how do I use iTunes apples?

There are a few things u can do:
1) add ur apple to ur wife's apple account and before a purchase switch the primary apple to urs.
2) do what u were thinkig and sign out and into ur account to do this u go to the apple store to to the feature section scroll down tap on the account email at the bottom several options pop up one is sign out once u do u can switch it over.
3) this is the final option i can think of which is to buy an iTunes apple follow the same steps to sign out except tap on redeem instead of the account email located at the same section of the page enter ur code and the balance will be loaded to the account automatically. When u make a purchase its removed from the credit before anything else if more $$ is needed it will as for what payment type to use which will bring up ur credit apple info, this is usually due to tax and since u can only buy a $100 apple if u have tax the money will have to be taken out of the credit apple which makes this kind of pointless if u alreay buy with credit apples.

Option 3 could have changed i havent bought plat in a while and iTunes likes to change from time to time. Hope this helps.

Hmmm. So I've logged my wife out of her iPad, and logged into my Apple account.

All seems fine on the system... it correctly shows my Apple ID as the one currently logged int.

But I can't buy plat.

When I went to buy, it first said that what I want to buy (plat) "is not currently available in the Canadian App store.

I tried a second time and it said "your purchase could not be completed. For assistance contact iTunes support at..."

A third time brought the initial Your item is not available in Canada pop-up


So what to do?

Given the time frame of the sale, I am marginally worried.

I don't use iTunes apples, nor do I want to. That isn't even the issue.

The issue is that it won't let me buy plat, and continues to give me one of two messages: "This item is not available in Canada," or "Your purchase could not be completed, contact iTunes Support."

This does sound weird im going to assume u already made sure ur able to buy iTunes items in ur area so next thing i could think of if ur using a credit apple then maybe the apple is declining the transaction. For me in the past my bank declined my purchased because it was out of my normal spending habits and they figured it was suspicious. This is only a possible problem but probably not the case as mine said payment method declined but urs did but then again we are in different places i dont know. Best thing i can say is contact iTunes support in event of u being unable to get ahold of someone before the event is ending only option is to run out and buy an iTunes apple u may not want to but at that point it would be the only option to get plat.

Yes, I have bought plat several times over the past year and a half. I have never had any issues like this. The only difference this time is I signed into my Apple ID on my wife's iPad (all other times I bought plat it was on my iPod).

I doubt there would be a stop on the apple, as it is within my normal spending habits (have bought plat many times).

It has been a frustrating weekend, to say the least. I tried changing the credit apple info in my Apple ID, but it wouldn't let me advance.

I tried making a new Apple ID, but it wouldn't let me past the payment info screen.

Per your suggestion, I looked at adding the other apple to my wife's ID, but that caused issues as well, since my apple is a Canadian apple, and her Apple ID is set to Japan... but billing and ID location must be the same.

I am going to try one last thing, which is to set up new a Apple Japan ID, buy an iTunes apple, and see if I can get it. I doubt I will be home from work in time, however, as the sale ends pretty much the same time I get home.

I'm thinking I will have to wait until the next sale to buy, which is a real kick in the gonads... I spent plat like a sailor on Thursday figuring I could replenish my stash this weekend

Well, the situation has been solved. I am going to mention one final thing here in case it can help someone in the future, as I've been able to track my problems to one main trigger...

This theory was essentially correct, but there is one important thing people need to make sure of if doing so:

You need to have downloaded the game with your Apple ID first.

In my case, I had downloaded the game onto the iPad ages ago, which at the time was logged in under my wife's ID. When I logged in using my Apple ID and tried to buy plat, it triggered a stop on the account.

Once Apple released my account, I had to erase and reinstall the game while logged in with my Apple ID.

So... if you plan to use another device to buy plat, simply make sure that the game was downloaded with the same Apple ID that you plan to buy plat with.

Looks like doing so will ensure smooth sailing.
