Is there a limit to the amount of characters you can have?

By characters I mean toons and I have 6 already and I want to make it 7 or 8 and as it is, it looks like I can't add anymore but can anyone confirm it for me? I don't want to waste my $1 or $2 on plat for nothing!
P.S: I'm not a nub with a bunch of characters that I'll never play on either.. Each has a lv. 50 offhand so I'm set for life
& when I get bored of endless lixing on my main ranger I can take it slow on another.. Just the way I roll!

Yup I have 20 character slots so u certainly should be able to get more

firstly lol im not a him a her
also my 15 alts (not all named there) are spread across 4 accs and my 20 slots on one acc were accidental

I think the limit is 50, I saw in an Infinity's video but I may be wrong too.
