A good friend of mine had one of his items magically disappear and he sent a ticket asking what happened to it, to which he got a reply saying that he had traded it. But...he doesn't remember doing so.

Could support tell him who he 'traded' it to?

Probably the mailbox "ate" his items?

I was waiting for my gladiator. staff was in my inventory, i fell asleep waiting. I wake up log on and notice my staff wasnt in my inventory anymore. So it disappeared overnight somehow. No i didnt trade it or mail it to my alts

It would still be nice if we knew who was in possession of the staff so we can try and have it returned.

The same thing happened to me... Minstrels Lute... Phone died, came back on its gone, and support puts a message (This Item was traded to another player on 6/21/13) Yet I did not ever trade it off to anyone... Ask around but watch out for lies, for example: I shout: "Wheres my lute!? Anybody know??" Person whispers to me: "I hacked your account"
I went and made sure I changed my password... Tell your friend to message support about it not being traded... I have a feeling its a bug.

Maybe you dropped it or gave it away while you were asleep. The mind can do many things without you being awake. I once fell asleep on the game, and found I had bought stuff I didn't want. At all.

As for OP, items disappearing like that is frankly impossible. You either traded it, or dropped it, or sold it.

I didnt trade it or sell it. It is possible that while sleeping and moving around in my sleep i could have dropped it. But support said i traded it which didnt happen because it was in my invetory when i logged

Thank you for the info i did change my pw wish i could get my staff back but that wont happen -_-
