Are we going to need IOS8 to be able to get new content in the (near) future?

I don't believe so as iOS 6 can already run the new graphics but it's not that graet and it is on iPod 4th gen if you have a device with a better processor like an iPad or an iPhone then you should be fine you just need iOS 8 for open beta

iOS 4 or higher.
