Got a friend to start playing and he leveled up a bit on a guest account before I told him that he needed to make a real account. Now the guest character is gone and he can't access it.

What can be done to recover this character?

What is the support email for him to contact?

I'm not sure if they are able to recover Guest accounts...but by all means, ask them.

For future reasons guest accounts shouldn't be a feature, that's of course if support doesn't want to have to deal with a simple issue again.

I believe the idea behind a guest account at start is to reduce the number of accounts that get created, played for 1 minute, and never touched again, but idk.

I always thought it has to do with new player retention too. Some people say "oh, free game let me try" they get to a login screen where they want you to make an account and password and link your email and your facebook and some people just say "nah..., nvm"

I always figured they wanted to get you into the game as quickly as possible to give you a shot at enjoying it. But... once you do determine it is enjoyable, why can't your guest account character be easily made to go into a real, registered, account without hassle?

Guest accounts should totally be a thing. When I'm startin a new game I always use a guest account to quickly get into the game to see if I like it, it's a pain to have to spend time giving all that info just to find out the game isn't for u. This is jus what I think tho

Guest accounts should be redone so it prompts you to make an account once you reach about level 15, and this guest account will be transferred onto it

100% this. It is the best solution. I agree with a previous poster that sometimes people who are trying a game don't want to be burdened with account creation. People are just lazy sometimes.


But if somebody reaches level 15, just pop up with a notification... hell, make it a quest! And have them go through the account creation process real fast and have it autonatically save their guest character.
