HAHAHAHA.

Man. A Druids reputation being based on their heal? That is asinine.

Just think, Druids are completely different builds, though most will max their touch, some use wards, others use abund/bark, others use a myriad.

No offense to Taranis, but viewing a healer on a Leaderboard rather than how attentive, smart, situationally aware, quick to point out adds and potential adds, and just basic group awareness is what makes a Druid....is as shallowly vapid as anything in this game. It misses the point entirely.

Similar to warriors. You can have the best gear, and even a decent build, but a great tank actually hits the buttons in the correct concert to understand the aggro, to understand the potential aggro and understands the adds on healers, times their bash to specific boss/mob skill... NOT using every skill once it goes off cooldown...There is a total difference between a CH button mashed, and a CH savvy timing player and it's especially relevant in Tanking....There is a underlying and real skill based prerequisite to some classes/group roles that is bigger than only your build, or only your items, although these obviously help tremendously.

Druid, and Tank Warrior are two group dynamic roles where actual skill means far more than what number your heal may be. You obviously want it high, but if you split hairs over a 1087 and a 1118 (my heal under a change of 50 focus) like that actually matters at all, yer beyond help. A Druid in a long fight can still turn into a button mashed, don't get me wrong, you only have so many buffs you need to cast in concert with your heals, but bowing to other preconceptions of what a Druid is and not fighting it is sad in my book.

And if players are willing to add 50 points into their 675+ focus to add like 30 points to their heal rather than a smattering of other stats that may help them more simply because they wish to increase their perceived reputation...they are, put quite bluntly, allowing their Druid mind to entropy to the same shallow level as the weak-minded fools around them.

Stop the madness, you build yer rep by being a kick ass Druid in all things, and if yer server only pays attention to the heals, then freaking prove them all wrong. Don't bow to moronics. Challenge them.

+1 tea!
Being a great Druid is more than your max heal. It's about helping the group survive as a whole. It gets me when I say ads on me and Noone acknowledges... Then they complain that I couldn't heal them... Well I couldve if you didn't let this add interrupt all of my heals. You learn as a Druid how to take every aspect of the game into consideration and make sure the group does better as a whole. That's what we do and trust me it's not easy... But once you learn it, it's a highly valuable commodity.... We have so much more to look out for than just our heal numbers.

Tea.... Just like to point out that I have studied so much of this game's mechanics. I can go through any boss using max 1 idol, and still heal as proficiently and effectively as a druid who stands right next to the tank amd uses idols.

When you have the skill to not get attacked in any way, I ask you: Why waste ur points on focus?

Quick Note: My Abundance increases my hp by 800 pts.... I consider vit unnessasary

You mention that focus has little-to-no effect on heals... You are missing the point. Focus also increases buffs, wards, dmg, and when you are a platless druid like me it pays off to have the extra 500 energy in your arsenal. If a druid is mean't to heal, then heal they should do!

I made this post to guide druids in my own way, without plat and without elixes and without support from a wealthy main... I am disliking how you wish to change my guide to suit yourself. If you care so much about my choices then by all means go make your own druid guide, and please dont ruin mine. I am getting tired of critisizm by you and others who dont remember what it was like to be a newbie...

Regenleif I to would like to thank you for your guide. Works great. I do have one suggestion, one change that made a huge difference for me. You already suggested that until around level 60, do mainly solo. This works perfect with suggestion I have (well I read about it somewhere else on these forums of course). Basically I suggest to follow all your steps, ~65% in focus the rest in health but, don't put any skill points into touch while you are playing solo. Works great. At level 49 I went to Stonevale and killed lvl 64, something rounded and blue with no effort and I couldn't believe it, yellow 64, 2 stars Glimmering Pickpocket (or something similar) i killed it although I almost ran out of energy, that one was close, but hey 2 stars, 15 levels higher! You should see my armor. Lol dusksomething gloves and boots, the rest what I got from the start. (anyone seen druid at lvl 45 running around Shalemont River in starting t-shirt with green/orange colors, yes that was me. One clansmen had enough and gave me chess board looking t-shirt. {thank you Mister} :-) Just to let you know I didn't invest in armor at all). Only investment I did is ancient totem so I can level totem ability. Ahh forgot, did bought bronze energy ammy. Was saving all cash for this and got a good deal for it. Those ribbon something lvl 52 and 54 in Shalemont river I'm killing with two lightening strikes. I was killing them easy, really easy at 45, 10 levels lower.

At lvl 1 touch is uninterrupted. I love it. Lightening, touch, lightening, touch and nature embrace as needed (plus abundance for extra HP) and soloing is so fun and fast. Several that we were in the group first few levels asked me what I'm doing that I level so fast. Some of them are at 3x while I hit 50 today. But may be I was playing more time wise. Anyway, grouping with one player is easy and fun. I heal with around 140 (that was level 49) and is enough for one friend. Lightening, touch to co player, lightening, touch to co player... same beat...If I'm in bigger group I don't heal we all just level and I heal as needed if player is whiting radius...

It is embarrassing though when we go with clan (Final Boss, Danu, nice clan, nice players) to talk to some boss <g> and I'm healing tank with crumbs. You don't even notice my contribution. What contribution? Sorry clan. But they know I solo and my healing suck for now.

My plan is to re-spec at around 60 and become support and start helping my clan.
If there is any new druid, try this for first 60 levels if you decide to mainly solo. You may really like it...

{for now wanna be but one day maybe} Energija (energy)

Been following this guide and thanks a lot for it! For beginners try this: grasp root, lightning, choking vines, lightning.... Repeat if necessary! Have been crushing crookbacks 5 lvls above me with 2 and 3 stars.... As long as no additional adds pop up. Takes a lil bit of time to kill but xp gains are great and I'm leveling my druid quite fast. During cycle there is a lull when u can use touch if needed but done right the target should only get 1 hit on u every time root runs out before u can get it castes again.
Thank you regenleif for this awesome guide... Been too busy leveling to follow quest line.... Went from level 10 to 15 in the hollow and gonna get back on quest again.

Thanks again!
