So let me get this straight. :-)

Mages are screwed because One Thumb thinks Mages are too powerful in PVP.

Here's a 411 for One Thumb.

NOBODY GIVES A CRAP ABOUT PVP! It is meaningless.

As Crews said. You get no prizes, no gold or plat. Hell you don't even get XP to lvl character. So what's the point, you get some idiotic title like "Astrologer". Wooopeee.

So there is a mage "template" from beta that OTM can use right away. So do it already!

LOL a generic 20% adjustment across all skills. You could have made that decision over lunch for crying out loud. To me that looks like it didn't require any critical thinking to do.

I played last night for first time since update, and I think the shorter cast time is gonna just make the energy problem much worse. I went through energy faster than before on the mobs that I usually level on. I could not keep up with energy like before the patch.

This only happens because it costs more energy to cast skills due to Level of skill. A simple fix would be to reduce energy cost for a small percentage. That being said it would need to be done to all classes if changed.

I'm just leveling Mage now and I must say lower levels no other class can compete with Mage xp ability . I am only level 60 now so I have a ways to go.

With all the complaints I see that higher level I will need to adjust , but keep in mind how much easier mages have it at lower levels compared to all other classes. Maybe that's a trade off for it being harder to train at a higher level.

Maybe it's a server issue I don't know but on Morrigan mages are heavily sought after for high level bosses as well as experience parties.

As far as energy issues , why can't Mage have some type of energy bonus per focus point that is way higher than it currently is ? Or possibly a natural regen that is significant ?

I'm only lvl76 for now, so can't really speak for high-end mages, but to me it seems mages are more powerful at low-level because mobs don't dodge as much, so you actually use less energy to kill.
The pain begins after lvl60, when you have to rest every 3 or 4 kills to regen, because mobs have both more health/resistances and higher dodge percentage. I don't think i've ever killed a mob since i left shalemont without getting at least one evade. And even I'm sometimes close of dying on a 1* frost wisp because it chains dodges (i once got 3 dodges in a row, one shards and two firebolts ; i died and the wisp wasn't even at 50% hp). On the other hand, I can solo 4* up to a few levels before mine, and when i'm really lucky, up to my level. Neither of those should be possible on the same build with any balanced class. What mages need, maybe as much as higher energy regen, is more consistent damage output.

On energy regen, yes, we need something like that idea. Maybe 1 point per 10 focus.

One of the big reasons mages went downward was the coming of new Lux with crazy amounts of elemental damage, and same with radiant armor.
Mages need a new characteristic to Lux that can raise a players overall elemental damage. Like a Mage book with +300 ice shards or firebolt, so that mages have a addon to how much they hit. 100 focus to a grimore book is horrible, it gives around 500 mana and barely and extra damage... While rogues get a +200 to thier auto attack! It's incredibly unfair.
