psh... the energy regain skills suck, and i mean suck horribly... they suck so bad its not even funny

The change from mage to support is like handing a warrior a bow and telling em to shoot stuff now.... Uncalled for, and unnecessary.

*EDIT* Before all you post update noobs start saying support is what mages are supposed to do, dont. Before update 3, we used to be a dps figure, blasting away with firebolts and rocking the tank with the old crappy e shield lol

before you call mages support please for the love of all that is right read this
THe game help talks about classes ill quote everything word for word
"Mages are elite spellcasters, and though they may be more fragile than druids in combat, they have an arsenal of powerful spells with which to destroy thier enemies"
Now tell me does that sound like a support class to you? haha i dont think so now read what it says about rangers
"Rangers are tough folk who are at home in the wilder parts of the world. They fight from range using bows, and have skills that slow thier enemies"
That sounds a lot more like a support class/druid to me then mages does. Just for comparison read what druids say
"Druids are spellcasters who are in tune with the natural world. Thier talents lie in spells that have a lasting effect on enemies dealing damage or slowing them down. They are also able to heal other players"
See if any other class in this game should be a support class based on class definitions it should be druid and then Ranger. Heck rangers already make a better support class then mages do. with thier light heals and boloas and camo and all thier other skills.

Ok so hhow about in update 1? when lures could take ene,ies down into the negatives? doing more damage then anyone has ever seen before lol

That's completely different haha, mages are great! And energy skills suck? Have you even used them? Healing someone with 500 straight energy, aswell as a 45 per tick boost, in my opinion, does not 'suck'.. Especially with a +7 ring eh notso!

Im not exactly sure what mages want.. Want to be as good/better dps than rogues? Mages are unique now. Pre-update 3 they really did suck.. Now they're awesome in their own way. Also, what do rogues have if they're not top dps? Bandage wounds? Smoke bomb? Poison weapon? (okay PW is pretty cool, but it's about 1/10th as cool as Cloak). Oh and don't forget Play Dead! That can be real useful for errrr.... Playing dead?

Hard to solo level? Rogues are just as bad. Rogues can't solo at all without pots or a Druid healing.. Just the way the game is. Warriors can some-what solo because of their high armour and spare points for Bandage, Druids can solo with a little bit of skill and a skilled ranger can solo anything (within reason).

I just need to know what you actually want, to offer suggestions lol

Rap, im a mage with 4k energy, and 1.4k health.... How the hell am i supposed to manage to solo with an e shield that wastes 1.8k energy AND STILL CANT TANK AN EFFEN 2* GOLEM CAUSE OF OUR ARMOUR....

All mages really need are more stabilized energy, as a 50 per tick e boost won't be enough to hold a 150 energy firebolt i use every 5 seconds....

As for suggestions, they are a ton in this thread and the mages forums, im just sad admin didnt take time reading through that instead of just improving attack speed, which didnt really help...

Zuper no offence, but your posts are leaning me towards the idea that you haven't played a support Mage. A support Mage with a maxed Ass Lure, Max Fire Lure, Maxed Cloak and High Energy Regen skills, is top of my list for grouping. They cut aggra time in half (possibly more) and are incredibly important. Also greatly increase the rate at which you kill whilst group lvling, (notso knows about that one). I went through a phase of using elixers from 133-144. After I had trained with a Mage with maxed ass lure, I wouldn't lix again without a Mage there.

Ask any rogue or ranger, A support Mage with a maxed ass lure is their ideal partner and certainly does not suck :)

EDIT: No offence notso, but I couldn't solo golems either. A 1* was a close fight, 2* I could maybe possibly kill if I got lucky with dodges 1/10 times, 3* I'd get my ass handed to me everytime. I had to level from 100-144 with a Druid by my side every step of the way. Everyone knows otherworld is not specifically ment for soloing, the idea was to group (atleast that's what I got told when I was *** about it being too hard). :lol:

EDIT2: Lures should be able to take enemies into - resists.. Mobs can take our resists into - cant they?

So the fix eliments damage not so our wand wont have that damage but our skills ...

Look, I can see the value in supporting a group. Until we Mage are fortunate enough to come across lure of assassins and soldiers all we have is fire and ice. So you're telling me I should follow a warrior or a rogue or a ranger for that matter and cast a lure of fire followed by a lure of ice and then wait until they expire to do it again? Not to mention the very real possibility that no one in the groups has fire or ice damage.

How many groups do you suppose will want to keep me when this is all the "support" I can give.
