Re: Will today's patch make mages happy ?

Why, would I cast a non Mage lure which may benefit the other grp more than mine.
Excellent point Jtam.

Another reason why support mage is garbage.
Nonsense , often our mages will cast lures based on who is in the fight, adding another decision making element to a quality support Mage , making a good one even more important.

Look I get that you don't enjoy the support role and i certainly hope the latest patches ( someone mentioned 25 improvements for Mage) have made you happier with a dps roll , but that is no reason to knock a good support mage or the need for support mages . Clearly support mages are not only useful but it could be argued essential .

If you want to be a support mage, and it floats your boat, go right ahead! :-)

Me, not a chance! My idea of support is blasting the target with my fellow clannies. Helping doing damage as much as possible.

In call of duty, do you want to run around as a medic, just heal people and get shot in the process. Yes you have a purpose there also?

Or do you want the M-16, grenades, and law rockets?

I don't play call of duty, but you get the comparison.

not everyone raids pig. It is very often that people in raid clans forget what it is like for those outside. Think of the guys from golgotha. The majority of their clan is sub 120. The people that level do so in very small groups because they don't have anyone to group with. Take zapper for instance. He solos because there is no one to group with and marches to his own drum.

Also you have to consider that each server has its own unique make up of players. On Morrigan we have a very refined sense of class roles and a very organized clan system. Other world do not have that. Some worlds have a very sparse population unlike Morrigan. On morrigan we can set up a raid party during the day many times. Other worlds are different. So a support mage doesn't help a clan that has low numbers of people or a huge variety of classes.

There are other play styles out there, and there is a lot of miscommunication that happens because people assume that other people's world is exactly like the other person that they are talking to. some times they even assume every clan on the same server operates the same way. But both of these views are false. Every clan and every world work differently. In some worlds and in some clans lures may not help due to a lack of active players. I remember someone quoted as saying every time i log on it seems like celtic ghosttown not celtic heroes.

I've wasted easily over 100 alts during this game, and i dont buy plat.

People say mages are to be support, read the in-game description of classes, and please explain to me where it says "spellcaster who cast lures to lower target defence, cause thats the only way to level".

I certainly didnt see that when i made my mage, and now i gotta be support to level up? Complete bs.
I will occasionly browse the forums, but for the most part im done.

If you wish to contact me, please feel free to message, as my E-mail is hooked up with the messages :D

Thank you everyone, for making this a special game.
