Why is this a one or the other choice? It takes both to really be succesful. I hate to compare this game to Warcraft, but Warcraft is the most succesful MMO in history, its because they cover all of their bases not just one or the other. But, if I had to choose, I would go with content. Its like asking would you like to eat a steak, or just sip on A1 sauce?
It isn't quite as simple as one or the other, something which perhaps I didn't make exactly clear in the Facebook post.

A better question would be:
Would you rather we have less (or even no) events, which will allow us to release updates at a quicker rate?
Or, would you rather we kept doing the events, which means there will be more time between updates?

As admin wrote, we're currently leaning towards the idea of having the events introduce some new content (e.g. quests and bosses) which would then stay after the event finishes, along with some content that would disappear at the end of the event. That way you will still have some of the content until the launch of the next update, even though the event itself has finished.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

@ Community :

For my part and I think I talk for a lot of players, your idea is the right one and the most rationnal way of bringing at the same time new content regularly and at the same time special events bringing also interesting entertainment. But :

Special events must always come second to the main developpement. Indeed I also would prefer to be riding right away my horses and crafting new armors and weapons than chasing a new bunch of halooween witches.

The idea to implement new main quests at the same time that event are released is fine.

But the idea to implement also main content between events is also fine. Right now, we are back to BOREDOM IN CAPITAL LETTER. Hopefully I know halloween event is coming, christmas event is coming, a new enormous 180 level troll catacomb area is also coming, and V4 also quite close.

But if they were no events, and simply BOREDOM for two months, I know a bunch of players that would definitly quit. We don't want that, and event is also a good way to generating cash for celtic heroes with special event items.

So yes please kindly release events with other patches regarding main game content.

As we all know you have a Halloween event chrismas event summer event how about just recycling those but change the reward that way all you have to do is come up with a new pumpkin Christmas hat etc and you can get to work on adding entire pvp zones and mounts I know you will get a few complaints from older players but there are a lot of new players to whom the events will be a new thing I'd rather see new areas than doing very similer quests over and over again hat and mask collecting for example
Recycle the old events change the rewards slightly and get to work on some big areas like otherworld and get some mounts into game
Neville the greats mask would be a good option for a Halloween hat darkflame was popular at the time and sure will continue to be popular I'm pretty sure that the neccys where the only thing that wasn't going to come back just change the decription on the new dark flame so it's year is right same with brooms and jobs a good un couple of days work to adapt last years event and rest of time down the pub discusing the new area and the mounts

OK what we are leaning towards is for events adding some content that is permanent rather than just for the event. So we would use the events to add new quests and things that would stay after the event finishes. There would also be some things that are just for the event which will go, but at least the events will also be adding permanent content into the game instead of just treading water adding and removing content constantly.
+1!

Admin can this be added to the Facebook choices?

According to the Online Rankings there are only 90 players lvl 150 and above. Therefore only 90 players have reached end game content where lvling basically ceases. Therefore only 90 players would truly be able to lvl past the current soft cap in this new updated world.

However, there are over 58,000 other players below lvl 150.

In other words you could release a new update that has content to push 90 players from lvl 150 to lvl 180 OR you can release events that apply to about 58,000 other players.

I understand that people are claiming that they are bored, but quite frankly if you are not lvl 150 you can always still lvl. The only ones who can truly claim to be bored at this stage in the game are those who have literallly completed everything there is to complete and that is those who are at lvl 150 and above. This new zone will have new mobs, but in the end it will still revolve around lvling and people will still have the same difficulties lvling in the new area that they are having in OW.

Just thought I'd toss out some statistics.
