I don't want to spend 28k on 5 books when I can ask other players about their experience. So if anyone knows or is willing to experiment, I would like to compare the effects of 5 skills at 300 focus and 1000+ focus.

-Firebolt
-Ice Shards
-Energy Boost

-Incinerate

Im not sure for low focus and 1k+ focus but from 400 focus, it seems that each 100 focus adds 5.5% of your current skills dmg pts

Are you sure it adds 5.5%? like if firebolt is at 700 and you add 100 focus, it will be 739? And another 100 focus will bring it to 779?

If that's the case I can't see me putting any more points other than the 300 I already have in focus. Seems like a lot of point for little return.

I have 1015 focus and so far my ice shards damage seems to have gone down but I'm pretty sure its just my imagination. Firebolt is getting 1-1.2k hits so I guess this theory is correct. Perhaps there is a point at which you simply need to be at a higher level to truly reap the rewards of higher focus.

In your experience then what do you think is the sweet spot for points into focus.

if its 5.5% at 400, mabye knock off a percent for each 100 above that. But that will only take you to mabye 700 hehe.

There are some focus equation posts here on the forums and i think mage forum, might want to dig through.

Im asking for a clear contrast between specific skills with those exact focus values. And I know it's ofd topic, but is firestorm now stronger than firebolt (I was told it is)?

I'm not really sure. I am a level 132 and around 965 focus points, I was getting about the same ice shard hits and just more 1k firebolts. I'm sure that if Leveled to 135-140, the 1015 would be a lot more helpful.
