I'm going to preface my response by saying that not everybody plays the way I do.
On Arawn, Ythair kills went to the people that had a group camping there first. None of the top clans have any interest in turning every boss kill into a KS war. Therefore, if a clan or group wants a boss, they have to go to the effort to log on and camp first. As mentioned above, a certain clan killed Ythair more than others... I say good for them. They all logged on and camped to equip their DPS with radiant earthstone. Details and arguments on that are for another thread.
That said, I like the variance that was in the Ythair timer. You could have a general idea of when to start camping but couldn't just log on and know within 2 minutes of when he was going to spawn. I don't like the idea of random spawn points though. Maybe it was just me, but I hated the wisp part of the meteoric quest. When I got to that point in the quest line, I was a higher level than the wisps in SV, so I didn't get hardly any xp, but still ran around killing for hours waiting for a random spawn to happen. It wasn't the end of the world, just a time consuming process that I felt was mostly pointless.
It's obvious from the responses that one of the reasons for wanting a random spawn point is to help prevent monopolizing of the bosses. Is that really going to help? From my experience, the same people who put in the effort to camp Ythair most every time he spawned (many times in the middle of the night) are the most likely to be the ones that put the most effort roaming Lir's looking for these event bosses. I think that random spawn points will only make it more likely for the boss to be monopolized.
There are people I know that are on this game for several hours every day. Props to ya if you have that kind of time

Regardless of the server, these are the people who will get the boss most of the time, no matter what OTM implements to make it harder. Again, not everybody plays like I do, but I enjoy camping every once in a while and talking to people. Made several friends in the game at Pyrus and the other bosses. IMO, the ideal way to handle event bosses is for everybody to show some mutual respect. Yeah, the higher levels are going to have the most opportunity to dominate the bosses. I don't think the way to deal with this is make the boss harder to find and hope someone else finds it before they do.
Again, maybe just me, but I would get insanely bored if I tried to dominate all the bosses all the time. Camping for 2-3 hours every day just isn't my cup of tea. I do however appreciate it when I do make the effort to camp something and I am let in the group, and I would try to return the favor. Hopefully the reverse would be true as well.
So to summarize...
-1 to the roaming bosses.
