Re: Mages OP in arena
#41Tony, I've missed you and was wondering when you were going to add a post to this thread! lol.
+1Sit by the camp fire my children and let me spin ye a tale.
There once was a mighty dragon name "Ythair." He who controlled Ythair ruled the world, as the legend told.
Those pesky Mages sitting atop their high tower on the highest peak of the world thought "if we controlled Ythair we could be rich beyond our wildest dreams."
So the Mage guild picked their best mage. He was a spry and powerful foe.
His ranking among Mages was "Master Archmage". His PvP Ranking. He could kill rogues, rangers and warriors with but a thought.
Master Archmage: "I accept this challenge and will defeat Ythair."
Scene Change: Lirs Grotto.
Ythair: is sleeping in the meadow.
Master Archmage: "come hither, ye foul beast. Bow before your Master Archmage"
Ythair: looks up with one eye open.
Blasts the mage, incinerating him with one fiery breath of fire.
And the sad tale ends on how Mages fair in the real world.
Enough with the idiotic comments.Wtf!
How weak r u setting ur character to suit pvp!
Lmao!
Nvm, I gonna make lvl 1 character into herna n duel u.
U auto 1 hit 400?! 500dmg?! Then defeat me.
Then I will post here Ranger? Warrior? OP!
Wahahahahhahahahhahahahhha
Because if a druid was embracing 250 a tick, there would be no way to kill them.... Literally lollooking at this post it seems its a bit unfair because druids get their embrace lowered down which again seems pretty unfair as for a mage can hit 1000+? kinda crazy lol but my point here is why should druids be the only ones who get their skills lowered down ( like natures embrace)
What has been forgotten here is that mages are a one-time burst class in pvp. Yeah, we can hit for over 2500 if we can get both spells cast.
On the other hand, both lures and shards are interruptible, and with the cooldown of shards, you're pretty much stuck for 5 sec just prying your shield will hold. A rogue, while fragile, can evade the spells, resist some of their damage, and reply with devastating melee AND skills. Now, i agree, they may have to survive the initial burst first. But it's possible, and possibly more than you'd think if you have enough of those new abilities.
I'd say, it's pretty balanced.
Mages one-hit, but then if one spell misses (or gets interrupted) they're dead meat.
Rogues are fragile but with their evasion and then their speedy attacks they can interrupt spellcasting and keep it that way.
Warriors do lower damage but can survive the initial burst with a decent amount of health left.
Rangers have rapid shot to interrupt, and quick heal.
Druids have some spells that deal dameg, but more importantly heals.
To me, while it seems druids and rogues might be the weakest, their weakness doesn't mean they'll automatically lose every fight. Just they will have a harder time when they can't manage to get tin the combat. But then they're unstoppable (Heck, i lost more than once against a lower level druid because of the heals ; never lost to a lower rogue but that's mainly because i don't come across many of them).
Anyway, since pvp and pve use the same skills, modifying a class in one will affect how it plays the other. Mages are already the weakest class in pve, we'd like to get our chance to shine somewhere, tyvm.
