Re: Starting some resistance calculations

Fire resist:
No resist (163 damage and 0% reduction),
100 resist (110 damage and 33% reduction),
200 resist (81 damage and 50% reduction),
300 resist (67 damage and 59% reduction),
370 resist (61 damage and 62% reduction),
470 resist (46 damage and 72% reduction)
So are these damage values the maximum you have found with those resistances?

Also, I would like to assist you in this experiment. How would I go about conducting these experiments?

I obviously know my resistances and I know how to increase/decrease them (duh). But how do I figure out the damage values you listed? I know how to find the reduction once I have the damage values.

But first, if you don't mind, answer those posts above me (by me :) )

Each of those damages listed were the average of 40 hits each when I was wearing the stated resistance.

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

Heres what you do:

wear no resistance to a given attack. Then let the monster hit you ~40 times. record each damage hit they do.

wear more resist. Let the monster hit you ~40 times while recording each hit.

repeat...

Then average all the values with no resistance. You will get an average damage.

Average all the 40 points with X resist. That is the average damage at X resist.

ect..

Now divide the average value at X resist with the average value at zero resist. then do 1-the number. Multiply the new number by 100. This is your % damage reduction at that resist.
