Re: Sort your self out
#2I don't know for sure, but I think those complaints about how these bosses are too hard are because those who take them are too used to use idols and potions instead on relying on skills.
That's probably the cause of some of the complaints. Also, and unfortunately, too many people (including myself) tend not to see how much work it took OTM to make the game, and only post on the forums to complain. While some have a point, and most at least try to just point some flaws in the game, depending on the subject the threads take different paths :
-if it's about classes, you can see people who don't play the class concerned trying to shove their vision of the class down the throats of people who play it (while some others only state their thoughs and accept different point of views, especially from people who do play it). That's how i saw every single thread about classes skills and mechanics go this far.
-if it's about more general game mechanics like plat items, you have quickly on one side, non-plat buyers, with some plat buyers who understand how it feels, ad on the other side plat buyers, with some non-plat buyers who agree with the pay-to-win aspect IAP allow
-etc.
Basically, you'll always have two big sides disagreeing. That's the risk of free speech. And people who don't always take into account the work this game has represented.
After writing this, I'm suddenly feeling ashamed of what i wrote sometimes in the past, before coming and judging everyone...

Re: Sort your self out
#3It seems like a big part of it is that people had really high expectations, especially after the Summer event. The Summer event had many items that where actually usefull to players such as the greater midsummer, solstice, earthstone armour, not to mention rings and bracelets that many people find really helpfull. The armour was not bound so it could be traded, sold, or used as leveling gear for peoples alts. There where bosses of varying levels so at least a greater portion of the CH communtiy could participate. The downside to the Summer event was that the bosses where not level capped, meaning a 130 player could and often did sweep through killing everything in sight and leaving nothing behind for the lower level players. For the Samhain event people where expecting similarities in the bosses. People wanted the same type of loot drops with bosses spawning throughout the day, and hopefully having level caps implemented that limited what levels could attack certain bosses. instead we got a mundane daily quest for non-tradable armour. No rings, no bracelets, no weapons, nothing particularly usefull, except if your one of the elite players that have been playing for several months then you have access to the now two non-quest related bosses who drop amulets and rings. The vast majority of every world in CH will never have access to these, and after having such high expections it was an enourmous let down, especially after having to wait for so long. I think everyones disapointment just got vented out on the forums and it seems like a hate fest. For a PC MMO daily quests like the armour quest is fine, but for a mobile MMO its not. The way the bosses where handled in the Summer event is what made it a success to a large degree, but this new daily quest nonsense is a huge turn off.

#4Honestly the people who get heard seem to be younger (just a guess) non plat purchasers, and demand instant gratification. Let them soil their diapers all they want, my concern is that they are get heard a lot.
That is what made me nervous when day one all the whiners who could not have possibly attempted The skeleton boss more than one or two times yet, were demanding it be made easier. I was compelled to jump right in and share that we killed the boss without issue on our second attempt within a short window. But oh apparently we must spend $100 on idols (this is the reasoning power of the average poster...).
Now they are whining that not everyone will get to do the spirit armor in OW so it should be permanent. It is seasonal... And is there not similar content in Stonevale? I am not sure about Shalemont or Lirs I don't spend time there.
I have been beat up a bit on advocating a seasonal, therefore temporary quality to items the armor, it isn't like there is a lack of precedence for doing so. I am at the point where I am just questioning whether I will be purchasing more plat in the future. And no, my decision does not hinge on whether I "win" or mot, rather whether I find the developer's capriciousness professional behavior I expect in a product and service I financially support.
I would prefer to see plans followed, of course I understand and appreciate that OTM reacts quickly (on some issues) that is great customer service, though less popular classes and issues get overshadowed when forum popularity is the tool of measurement. We have a plenty of purchasable and permanent quest items, I do not see merit in leaving this quest permanent. Either way I expect an official statement to be made, not this casual, post in page two or three of a forum.
