Re: No faith in OTM after this last event

Hi there, thanks for all the feedback. Overall it looks like this is going to be the last major event we are going to run - the event has taken a couple of man years of work in total to create and release, and since it has proven very unpopular, in future we will put the effort into updating the live game and stop running these big events.
I have 2mil gold before the patch but it was useless since i had everything i needed so the 1 mil broom was the best thing 1 bought in 5 months(except the earthstones which nobody was selling)

We complain of the prices because we want the items and we know their going away so that's why we want to buy them. But we are torn because we know either we can't afford or all that gold we saved up will go down to "0" More like some people who cheat and buy plat. People who buy plat do not care, all they know is spend money and get instant gold.
Ummmmm how is buying Plat and Gold cheating? It helps keep the game going.

I think that if someone boasts how great they are and it's all based on Plat getting Luxury items than that is bad. Also in PVP it skews up the combat if one side is Lux free but that is what hand to hand is for surely.... :)

Also I have huge respect for players who get high level with no buying of gold.

But not cheating IMHO

I didn't say cheating the game I said cheating time, not taking the time to gain it themselves.

I think the event started off amazingly! So much buzz, there were people everywhere! Only problem was, that it was not targeted to such a mass of people. Not only were there too few pumpkins and witches to go around, the quests were generally targeted to stronger players. A pain in the arse for us level 50-60 players to get very far with them. Seems more viable for us to spend the month continuing to level in the hope that at Christmas, we can undertake all event quests (should there be any). However, the idea was great as was the initial buzz. You certainly got people very interested in playing the game and isn't that the point? it would be awful if events didnt occur in the future as the feedback you have received from players will surely enable you to create better, more innovative events in the future that are more accessible for all players?

I think that now the groundwork for the Samhain event has be laid down that future Samhain events will be much better since they will only require tweaking the loot drops, or perhaps removing the widley unpopular daily quest aspect of the event.

Dear admin. You if anyone should know that in general you have more haters then positive respons on most things, its a part of their attitude knowing no one knows who they really are.

Why not instead look at this and see if there could be some changes done on some parts and whatever you do, do not canvel these events. Many many of us live for these moments when new mobs and bosses comes around and new stuff to buy. Like this King boss at the peninsula..wow, he is harder then agg with his mobs in my opinion..done agg 16 times so I think I can compare. We sure had fun figuring out how to best deal with him, then of course we have become better at him and found some solutions. Thats what this is all about, challenge, and thats what you have given us, keep up the good work :)

I enjoyed all the patches/events. The brooms are awesome, and the new skeleton bosses look awesome as well. Be fair to OTM i bet they spent a lot of time creating the events for us to enjoy. It's pretty boring if it's just the plain old Celtic Heroes always and the normal mobs. It's cool to experience something new, so that's why I spent over 1 mil on the event.

I think the events need to be put on **pause**.

Not ended, not forever, but if the community asks OTM to do a holiday update this year, the 4th Update will honestly roll out in Feburary. There is too much everyone is demanding them to do.

You ream them for the third update, they patch all summer content to make that update better, you ream them about camo charms, they put some form them back in game with brooms. They get reamed over classes, try to fix some. You ream them for epic events, and they hafta be at a loss for words and hours.

But sadly the real thing that loses out is our Update 4. We need, the game needs the new overall content to be added in the 4th Update but the community's ream-fest of "I want what I want when I want it..." will be forgotten when they are demanding OTM release a new update...in um a week.

When could they? When they were patching all summer? When they made a huge event filled with graphical and itemized, and boss and quest content for it's players...

The problem with our community right now the perspective. The "haters" may not be incorrect over all, but the attitude expressed and snowballed, oftentimes not by the people who start the posts, but by the hater-train that follows...and the tone becomes ridiculous and ridiculously short-sighted.

It's really hard to see clearly, let alone grab some perspective on the intentions of this company for its players when yer neck is stretching out yer colon. Plus it's rough on yer back, would make anyone grumpy. Stretch out your muscles, joints, compassion and perspective and maybe think about what they have done in trying to make this world that we all spend so much time in, worth it.
Hell yes.

I too generally love the event and look forward to seasonal events so would hate to see them disappear. I do agree with Aileron that the scope could probably be lessened a bit. Pause would be fine.

I think the daily quests are fun and not game-changers so they really are optional. I like collecting, but 8k pumpkins is too many for me....SO WHAT? I choose not to spend my time getting a sparkly fashion item and move on. Don't like em, don't do em and no harm done. Go power level while I wander around smacking witches. But don't complain so much that those of us who enjoy new seasonal content (and I really enjoy the way the seasonal content reflects Celtic myths/traditions) will lose that in the future.
And I think the potion quest is a GREAT option for players who can't buy plat.

I think the brooms were a good solution to the Camo crisis. Didn't replace camos, but offered a decent alternative.
