its TOO EASY to die in this game, particularly when the aggro ranges of mobs is so large and certain areas like aggragoths lair are packed with mobs, making it almost impossible for a lvler without a camo to go in and lvl without getting raped by mobs.
Then you have areas like the bridge where 12 adds atk u at once, how are u meant to survive that? Keep logging every few steps?
This part of your post got me thinking... because this game is largely without dungeons, the bosses are located out in the open. For example: Chained king. He couldn't be put in a dungeon, because there is no dungeon in the Otherworld. So, he had to be put behind a gauntlet of mobs that would simulate dungeon content. Without camo charms or idols, a group of people would have to organize at the other side of the bridge, and fight their way through the mobs on the bridge. At the end of this gauntlet, is a boss. This is actually in line with all other MMOs. You fight through a bunch of small groups of mobs, and then you fight a boss. Using this mentality, this puts CH right in line with other MMOs. You aren't meant to skip past the blackstones on the bridge using a camo charm, and you aren't meant to run through them using idols every few steps. You are supposed to organize a group, and then fight your way through to the boss at the end. I think we have gotten spoiled by bosses that spawn out in the open (Falgren, Spearhorn, Rockbelly, Stonelord) and want to skip right to the end of the "dungeon". Many other MMOs make you do actual work to get to a boss.
(Please note I am not against camo charms or idols, and I'm not advocating the death penalty. I'm just stating my thoughts on this particular subject. Please continue with your debate)
