Wow , you are correct , otm shouldn't make changes to the game to make it better because you play the unskilled way . How would implementing a death penalty favor anyone ? If another tank dies less than you then they are probably just better than you . I think it's great you help lower level players , I even enjoy being reminded of how helpful you are every damn day on the forums , my advice would be to maybe dump some str and add some vit , or take points out of one of the damage skills and use it for defense, if you can't handle dying less than Once every 2 mins , you need to seriously look at the way you play this game, it sounds like you noob it up alot.

its TOO EASY to die in this game, particularly when the aggro ranges of mobs is so large and certain areas like aggragoths lair are packed with mobs, making it almost impossible for a lvler without a camo to go in and lvl without getting raped by mobs.
Then you have areas like the bridge where 12 adds atk u at once, how are u meant to survive that? Keep logging every few steps?
This part of your post got me thinking... because this game is largely without dungeons, the bosses are located out in the open. For example: Chained king. He couldn't be put in a dungeon, because there is no dungeon in the Otherworld. So, he had to be put behind a gauntlet of mobs that would simulate dungeon content. Without camo charms or idols, a group of people would have to organize at the other side of the bridge, and fight their way through the mobs on the bridge. At the end of this gauntlet, is a boss. This is actually in line with all other MMOs. You fight through a bunch of small groups of mobs, and then you fight a boss. Using this mentality, this puts CH right in line with other MMOs. You aren't meant to skip past the blackstones on the bridge using a camo charm, and you aren't meant to run through them using idols every few steps. You are supposed to organize a group, and then fight your way through to the boss at the end. I think we have gotten spoiled by bosses that spawn out in the open (Falgren, Spearhorn, Rockbelly, Stonelord) and want to skip right to the end of the "dungeon". Many other MMOs make you do actual work to get to a boss.

(Please note I am not against camo charms or idols, and I'm not advocating the death penalty. I'm just stating my thoughts on this particular subject. Please continue with your debate)

Hahah i love your response by the way in full punching bag ( full tank) lol , i dont have strength (50) only ( 150+ on weps),
100 dext and rest in vitality ........ Im by the way come to my server and ask ppl and you will see, Like i said , why growing clans should be punnish for you to kill evertything ....

I mean sorry if i want take a dump i dont need 10 ppl to help me , all higher clan on each server dont risk theirself to use idols , they wait to have 30 ppl to kill, well if you want to play the way do it but dont ask others to be penalize cause you don want used idols .... Is like the original poster he use 7 druids and e wants druids to benefits so for me is ok but dont punnish other players cause you want to have your way.

I wasnt referring to the way i play eliminator/aileron, nor was i suggesting that i personaly have trouble stayin alive for 2minutes. I will have no trouble with death penalties, got 2 devices, camos, a druid, sigils everythin i need to stay alive.
The point of my post is thinking about others, people who dont have pots, camos, lower level, less powerful gear. Ive seen many lower levels unable to join a fight near chainking or lavalord back in the early days of updt 3 because they cudnt stop dying. So i end up givn out invis pots. Or if the fight hasnt startd, escort them. But thats not gna b the case for everyone. They have enuf trouble getn to the fight, the last thing they need to worry about is a penalty as well.

I suppose the admins idea isnt as harsh as some of the player suggested ideas, so shudnt be too much of a problem. But regardless, every now and then u will get pwned by area dmg skills a few times in less than 2 mins - if ur a rogue or druid with low hp. And for lower lvls who dont have powerful clans to assist them, its gna be frustrating.

As long as the admin suggestion does not change, shudnt b a problem, but player suggestions of losing xp? Or half ur stats is just ridiculous.

See my last post on this thread. Chain King is meant to simulate a dungeon. You don't organize your group inside the dungeon, you organize outside and head in as a group. The same should be done for Chain King. set up your group on the other side of the bridge, and head in as a unit, taking out mobs as you move through to get to the boss (or get a ranger and use conceal to sneak through).

I don't have a strong opinion about how to implement a death penalty however I definitely think there should be one. For a game like this I think it should be very small or very short. When I first started playing I found it very strange that there was no penalty for dying but I am use to it now and don't even think about it.

Possibly reduce stats 5% for 30 seconds on first death and up the percentage if you die again while under the effect of the death penalty.

Bitey, sometimes ur halfway thru a fight, u cant organise a team to escort ur clanmates to come. My current clan wont have a problem anyway. Just saying in general, for others with no large clans.

I see your point about the boss fight being like a journey through a dungeon, fighting ur way up. but the reason that worked back in dustwither and crookback days, was because the leystones wer situated halfway thru the dungeon, and there is no death penalty. So when people died they just ran back and kept going. Plus agro range was much less before updt 3.

Anyways as i said before, admins suggestion is reasonable, shud be ok.

I think above all the resounding issue is that there isn't much value to your characters life. People
In other MMOs actually care when their characters die and try to avoid it. A death penalty promotes character preservation which introduces a new strategic element that this game seriously lacks.

For those whining about how they die in one shot:

Vitality, invest points into it. That is how the game is designed to be played. Like others have said, if you can't survive a fight you probably shouldn't be fighting there.

I would suggest to OTM to release ability reset books for all characters of this were implemented just so nobody complains about HAVING to spend money to continue playing.
