How the heck are people getting scammed? is it during a transfer?

quite frankly, people who so easily put trust in others for transfers are asking for what they get. I have people who barely know me asking me to transfer (which i generally refuse).

Take some care with your stuff. or don't xfer really important items.

Akbar, its not during transfer. And dont say its thier fault for being scammed because that means you're taking the scammer's side. The way they get scammed is they switch out an item with same looks. There might be other ways, but thats how i got scammed. I felt dumb and i was upset. Alot of people said get over it because it was my fault, and honestly that just makes it 10x worse. Sry akbar, had to say that just because of personal experience. If they wanted to get scammed they would, but i doubt they just said "scam me".

well, i'm sorry you got scammed, but that is why there is the second confirmation screen. It takes discipline to make sure you double check things - but i have forced myself into that habit. Part of the blame belongs to OTM for having so many things with the same icon. There have been repeated pleas for watermarks or other distinguishing features to make identifications easier. Having something to graphically indicate a lux item or special item would also be important.

Explaining how to prevent being scammed does not mean i am taking the scammers side. it does not mean they should not be reported and reprimanded by OTM. It does not mean i will do business with them. It means, that everyone should learn from the bad experience and know that people are still using old scam ideas. It means that maybe people will remember to check before clicking OK.

but what's ridiculous is how some people are being scammed multiple times... like seriously don't you learn from your mistake the first time? and it's always apperntly the same method used to being 'scammed', it's more like being suckerd if it happens to you a lot, if it's a one time deal then that's fine, you make sure the next time your 100% sure of the trade.

Btw @monkeyninja It's not siding the scammers if it really is the person's fault, you've been scammed 8 times... this may suggest to us your lack of awareness during trades, i understand it's pisstaking when someone rips you off, but it's totally lame if you fall for the same trick, or ask a transfer for someone you hardly know.

And another note this post is false information, we have already confirmed Vulture made a trade of idols for golden haste gloves - that vulture did not trade back (because swift dude wanted it back even though he made the offer) i think my man decided to rage and say it was a scam of 300k :L
